Great book and source, but make sure you have a good professor or other source of knowledge..,

This review is from: Religions of the World (Hardcover)
This is a very good source for a beginning look at world religions. However, you need to make sure that you diversify your sources because of the inherent bias in a book called "Religions of the World." There are some examples in this book that the actual practitioners would never call a religion (Shintoism) and obviously there are many important beliefs left out. So take it all with a grain of salt and don't leave any one source as your SOURCE! Otherwise, the book is well-written and interesting. It gives good information.

This review is from: Religions of the World (Hardcover)
Textbook format with interesting highlights of the world's major religions. Not as focused on doctrine as Huston Smith, but indicates the cultural impact and use of these eastern and western religions. Good reference tool.
