3.0 out of 5 stars No choirboys here, a toughened up Tuff
Everyone knew Tuff would amount to zilch in their original guise (apart from a couple of magazines circa 1991) so they took the best of a small number of options and toughened up their act. And they pulled it off with skill. Dunno why but this album works far better than What Comes Around.... This is a harder release because it takes the harder edge of their earlier...

3.0 out of 5 stars No choirboys here, a toughened up Tuff, August 8, 2006

Everyone knew Tuff would amount to zilch in their original guise (apart from a couple of magazines circa 1991) so they took the best of a small number of options and toughened up their act. And they pulled it off with skill. Dunno why but this album works far better than What Comes Around.... This is a harder release because it takes the harder edge of their earlier sound and smears it all over the record. Tied to the Bells, Daddys Money, Follow the Loser and God Bless This Mess all hold up their end of the bargain, rolling along nicely.

How much of this sound alteration was due to Jamie Fonte and Jimi Lord having replaced Michael Lean and Todd Chase I can't say - but this album is far more committed and fuller bodied musically. We also get an amusing change of pace with the old time tune Sixteen Tons. Wildly unexpected from this band but it actually breaks up the heavier feel of this release and adds a touch of humour.

My advice for any Tuff fan is to buy this - pop metal fans should also pick this up to spice up their collection. Check the tracklisting of any copy your thinking of buying. Some versions didn't have Daddys Money and Follow the Loser which are definitely two of the better cuts on this decent party metal album.

3.5 stars on a good day for my mind.

This cd is awesome with a raw punch you in the teeth sound that your metal senses will love till the end.Tuff has hardened up on this effort.Musically is a A+ from start to finish. This cd gives you the truth on how shady, and false religion and politics can be.Electric Church is an awesome example of what I'm talking about. Also it gives you the perspective on alot of different views from how an unpopular person might feel in highschool(Follow The Loser),to how a rich girl can't buy a person(Daddy's Money). Then It also gives the classic glam metal tunes on Rattle My Bones, and I Like What I See which are just awesome good time metal/rock songs.I love how this cd makes a big statement about alot of stuff that people try to ignore that is around us every day.Bottom line This cd Rocks from start to finish and is a must have.Tuff Kick's Ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Rock On!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

4.0 out of 5 stars Tuff rocks, April 29, 2006
This review is from: Religious Fix (Audio CD)
Tuff is one of those bands that most say were riding the coat tails of other bands such as Poison, also theyve been called Poison's carbon copy. Stevie Rachelle's voice is alot more true sounding, and more Tuff sounding. I say get this album, and also get their "What comes around Goes around" cd, that album rocks from start to finish....

Tuff was one of the coolest bands around during the glamour rock craze. This album is not as good as What Comes Around Goes Around but none the less it still rocks. Too band they are not around anymore. They were great in concert!

1.0 out of 5 stars Grunge album by a bandwagon jumping hairband, December 5, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Religious Fix (Audio CD)
This is for those who like fake grunge albums by hairbands jumping on the latest trend, like Warrant Belly to Belly, Ultraphobic, Motley Hooligans Holiday, Bullet Boys Acid Monkey, Kiss Coma of Souls...etc. It is purely awful and phoney. Singer lost his hair and tried to lose the hair band image. This is same product same songs as the "Fist First" album, so don't buy both. I would not buy either.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't get much worse than this, September 26, 2002
This review is from: Religious Fix (Audio CD)
These guys need a fix of some sort. I wish my eardrums were 'tuffer', then maybe the sound of this glam sham wouldn't have been so painful. Too bad the scale doesn't go lower than 1 star. Could be worse though; they could still be putting out albums.
