"There is a dangerous threat brewing, and many are afraid to speak out against it. As a former member of the Religious Right, A.F. Alexander offers an insider's explanation of why the movement formed, how it joined with the Republican Party, how its members view the world, and what they want for America... this book serves as an honest and frightening look into the movement." 4 Stars Sacramento/San Francisco Book Reviews
"A theocracy is a nation where religion controls the government. 'Religious Right: The Greatest Threat to Democracy' is a treatise from a former member [who] shares...what she fears may be America's downfall. 'Religious Right' is worth considering for those who want to better understand the Christian Right's ideals for the American nation." Midwest Book Review: Small Press Watch, June 2012.
"It is a good basic introduction to understanding the drives of the fundamentalist Christian right and how they mesh into present day American politics...It will scare the pants off you - as it should!" Nulla/LibraryThing 4 stars
About the Author
Four years, and over sixty reference books later (we aren't even touching on the number of articles), she had systematically presented the Religious Right agenda. "There are a couple of major themes and players that clearly stood out as I researched and pieced their agenda together. One theme that I found very disturbing was the intentional move towards a government and culture solely established upon an extremist view of the Bible, essentially a theocracy, and a deliberate move away from any consent of the governed. I felt that deserved to be spotlighted and brought to every citizen's attention."
She holds a BSBA degree, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Theology. She has worked in Fortune 500 companies her entire adult life. This was the book that had to be written and would not be quieted.
