this is a good one to have just for the first 10 selections which represent the entire "Live From Tokyo" album originally released on Regency Records -not Relix- in 1979. Members of this very strong lineup were Sneaky (or "Sneeky") Pete Kleinow, the one original member, plus Gib Guilbeau, Greg Harris, Ed Ponder, and Skip Battin, previously of the Byrds and the New Riders of the Purple Sage. Less impressive are the next 11 tracks, the first 10 being a complete reissue of "Live From Europe" (Relix, 1986, and later expanded and retitled "Live From Amsterdam" in 1997), plus one last track taken from "Cabin Fever" (Relix, 1985). Greg Harris's husky voice dominates, and while his performance is spirited and exciting, original fans may be disappointed by the absence of a sweet tenor in the group.
There is one especially annoying aspect of this release: Bands of silence, which did not appear on the original versions, now appear abruptly between each song, making the entire CD resemble a transfer of an audience tape. Otherwise, the CD on Retroworld in London is of dubious origin. All artwork -and my original liner notes from 1986- are reproduced as is from Relix releases, the only exception being slight changes to the front cover, originally used for a "Best of" collection on Relix. Nor are there any new credit notes indicating licensing from Relix. Well, as one prominent former Relix exec recently commented to me, "It's nice to know it's out there."

This is a great country rock CD. It contains 2 albums Live From Tokyo and Live From Europe. However, the track titles are not in the iTunes Library.
