5.0 out of 5 stars Reload - Wii - Review November 23, 2010
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I received Reload for the Wii as a gift. As a life-long gun enthusiast and video game player, I was totally stoked to play this. This game has tons of different types of target shooting, ranging from simple target ranges, to full on police training levels, even shooting from a moving vehicle in a few levels. Skeet shooting gets a bit unrealistic sometimes. There are just too many clays in the air at a time sometimes. Still fun though. It has some of the best known civilian and military hardware to choose from. I can play this with the kids in the room too. There is no blood and guts like so many recent shooting games. Nothing ever dies. You lose by not scoring high enough, by hitting too many of the wrong targets, or by missing too many targets that shoot paintballs at you. It's very pretty for a Wii game as well. My friend that gave this to me told me it was only $20. A fun to play, nice looking target shooting game for only $20? Sign me up. I would've bought this for myself even if my friend hadn't bought it for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun game, needs one major tweak. December 27, 2010

I was quite impressed with this game. The scenarios are challenging and have enough variety to keep you coming back.

One major improvement that is needed, however, is to have a calibration function between the controller and the targeting reticle. I'm using the Wii Perfect Shot pistol attachment and when the reticle is in the center of the screen, I'm actually aiming down towards the bottom edge of the tv. The game still plays fine, but it detracts a bit from the realism and adds fatigue due to not being in your normal shooting stance (I'm a fairly experienced shooter).

This has nothing to do with the game itself, but I'm pretty surprised at the lack of quality gun accessories for the Wii. The Perfect Shot is cool for pistol shooting scenarios, but not so much for sniper missions or skeet shooting. Since there is such a variety of firearms and shooting styles in this game, you almost need several types of attachments to accommodate them all and create an experience that approximates the real thing.

Overall, this game is well worth the price and should provide you with plenty of enjoyment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game December 27, 2010
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I got it as a christmas gift. My girlfriend read all the reviews and felt it was a great game to get me. Being an avid hunter & shooter it is a realistic & fun game to play. It is challenging & does not have any violence in it. The skeet shoot is a little overwhelming & the machine gun round is fun as well! The fast paced & challenging shoots are fun. We play it when all of us can play & have a fun competition out of it. I would recommend this game to anyone!

4.0 out of 5 stars Reload - 4 stars January 6, 2011
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii|Verified Purchase
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This is a target shooter like no other I've ever seen. There are no human or animal targets to shoot. Anyone who has a moral problem with shooting animals or real people will appreciate that. This game is actually a training program. There's not a lot of hype or fanfare, just hardcore training. Some of these targets shoot back, by the way--with paintballs, that is. All scenarios are timed, and all shots are recorded. As you progress, the scenarios get harder and harder. Some are almost too hard, in my opinion. The training scenarios seem very realistic. Law Enforcement or Military personnel would probably like this. I've done some training similar to this in real life. Pretty cool that a person can get a little trigger time inside when it's cold and wet outside. The higher levels are very hard, in my opinion. The graphics are a little fuzzy at a distance. The sound effects are good. The variation in the scenarios is very good. Overall: Very Good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wii Game "Reload: Target Down" January 10, 2011

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
My 9 yr old son and I can play this together and we have a lot of fun doing it. There are no "real" people in it, the targets look like law enforcement pop-up targets, that are like plywood cutouts of bad guys mixed in with civilians, you shoot the wooden cutout of the bad guys. There are also several other target shooting levels, such as little metal self resetting targets, and one of my favorites is the skeet shooting. We have the wii sniper rifle, and the perfect shot pistol. This game lends itself to the use of both rifle and pistol accessories. I may recommend one of the accessories that converts easily between pistol and rifle, as we have to pause game and switch between accessories, though not difficult, it is inconvenient. But that belongs in a different review. My son and I have a great time with this target game, and my 4 yr old daughter used the sniper rifle in a stage where you are in a army tank and you are the gunner with belt fed machine gun. She "finally has a game (I) can play!"

3.0 out of 5 stars Great except one problem January 8, 2011

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game is really a lot of fun and challenging. Especially with the unrealistic Kentucky windage you have to use! Has the realistic shooting effect of a firearm that was built in the 1500's or before. The reason is that the sensor bar is your aiming point and the TV video is your target. After moving the sensor bar to an optimal position you still have to shoot way over or under your target (depending where the sensor bar is.) Really wish the pistol had a simple elevation adjustment so the shooting would have a more natural target aiming point.

It was what I expected and it's fun to play, but it seems it doesn't host multiple profiles - i.e. you can't select Player A for yourself and another person plays under Player B. Read more

If you like 'shooting games' this is certainly among the best. With concentration and practice, you can become a Wii sharpshooter. It's entertainiing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad.
I was looking for something close to Shooter USA by Sammi. It's fairly close. A good gun to go with it would be great! Some thing that actually required an actual sight picture.

5.0 out of 5 stars recommend for use with had gun and rifle accesorys
Great game, level difficult not always on par, seems like some of the early levels are harder then the end levels. Loved the game, highly recommend with gun accesory.

My son really wanted a shooting game and I wanted one without blood and violence. This is pretty fun. It took a while to get the hang of it and learn how to zoom in, etc.
