This book has it all - and tells a sweet love story to boot -
Mia Trentino works with Worldmove Inc. - she facilitates big moves for large corporations. She is sent to Siberia to help our Russian friends, and is given a partner, a sexy man named Douglas Farland. What she doesn't know, our hero is with a super secret organization that makes the FBI look like the YMCA! He is in Siberia to investigate drug dealings and meth labs...while he's undercover, well...he and Mia find themselves falling in love. But he hides his secret agent persona from Mia, and then needs to earn her trust. This book shows Siberia is really cold, and has some cold villians there too. As well as neat operatives on the good guys' side too.
There are some tender moments for us romantics. Little details that help make a book memorable -

Mia is a relocation specialist who usually works alone, and has to adjust to working with Douglas on an assignment to Siberia. What Mia doesn't know is that Douglas is really a freelance law enforcement agent who's posing, undercover, as her assistant as he tracks what he suspects is a drug dealing ring.

Mia and Douglas are attracted to each other, which makes them both uncomfortable. As the action (and their action) heats up and Douglas realizes that there's more than just drugs involved, Mia feels he's betrayed her, and reacts by getting herself stuck in a jam from which Douglas must save her.

Lerwill has some cool side characters--I especially enjoyed Ludvinka and Shurnik, one mostly good, and one mostly bad--and she pulls together some nice scenes of Siberia, including an image of a lavender-filled field on the shores of Lake Baikal that's still stuck in my head.

Relocating Mia is a promsing start for Lerwill.

Wow, what a fun read. I couldn't put this fast paced adventure novel down. Romance, murder, mystery, international intrigue, and spies all interwoven into a believable plot. The author's knowledge of Russia and the Red Mafiya added to the realism, as did her colorful characters. I felt that I knew her characters, and was rooting for them throughout this suspenseful book. Relocating Mia is a winner, and I look forward to the sequel.

I was out shopping for a mother's day gift for my wife at the local Borders store in Orem, Utah. It just happened that Rebecca Lerwill, the author of "Relocating Mia" was there doing a book signing, so I bought a signed copy of the book for my wife.

However, my wife reads a lot and had several books in her "to read" pile already, so I decided to read it first.

My wife always known if I like a book by watching me reading habits. If I read a chapter and put it back on the shelf... well that talks for itself. If I read only a chapter a day... then I like the book more or less. If I stay up at night reading... then I really like the book.

Relocating Mia was in the latter category. My wife commented, "Wow, you must really like that book!" And yes I did.

The book delivers a light, fun, romantic, exciting mystery thriller that keeps you wanting to read "just one more chapter."

Rebecca Lerwill brings us an exciting story in Relocating Mia, full of intrigue, mystery, and a great love story that overcomes all the hardships suffered by the two lovers. Although German in origin, Lerwill has a wonderful grasp of the English language and uses it well. Her book grabs the reader right from the beginning and doesn't let go until the end. Her characters are fascinating and well drawn. This reader looks forward to more exciting tales from this new author. Well done!

The name of this novel, Relocating Mia, exactly depicts what lays in store for you as you read this thriller. Mia, works for Worldmove Inc. and her job is to relocate new employee's and their families (hired by her company) to new locations.

Mia is shocked when she finds out that she will no longer be working alone as she has always done in the past. She meets Douglas and this is where the true story begins. Is Douglas after her job? Will he take her position over, or does he have another agenda in mind?

This book will keep you on your toes and it is very well plotted. Ms. Lerwill did her homework with this novel and she thoroughly explains a life within the mafia and other government agencies. Ms. Lerwill is a very talented writer and knows how to create a story that has it all. Love, hate, crime, passion, and death. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a thriller that will keep you turning the pages in anticipation to find out more.

During cold war times one being sent to Siberia was a punishment. But Rebecca Lerwill rewards the reader when she relocates us to a land once thought of as a cold prison destination. She tells of lavender fields and a pristine lake to change our perception. Then her story folds into Red Mafia (Mafiya) doings there as well as the mutual attraction between her protaganist, Mia Trentino, and Douglas Farland, an undercover agent of ACRONYM who is after some covert Russian drug dealers pretending that they're drilling for oil. The love affair between Mia and Douglas works its way slowly to titilate the reader before it developes ,but when it does only 'Red Adair' could extinquish that inferno.

Lerwill's character development is right on. She makes good guys and women like the lovely Mia, the sensuous Ludvika, the handsome Douglas very good and bad guys like villainous,Shurnik very bad. I would have liked to have read that Douglas was more emotionally torn between his affection for Mia and his old love Ludvika, but that's the author's choice not the reader's.

Rebecca Lerwill has nailed it with Relocating Mia. Only extensive research or perhaps a past history of covert activity could make this tale ring of such reality. Watch for more of the same from Lerwill. I will!

I am pretty impressed with Relocating Mia, by Rebecca Lerwill. Born and raised in Germany, Rebecca Lerwill moved to the United States in 1995 and has lived in California and the Midwest. Now residing in Utah, she spends her time with her horses, writing, and traveling the US with her husband, who is a professional rodeo entertainer. Relocating Mia is her first title and it is a Best Books award finalist from USA Book News.
Mia Trentino was top in her field as a relocation specialist at her company, Worldmove, Inc. Pretty satisfied with her life after a rocky divorce, Mia finds her next assignment in Siberia, Russia a bit troublesome, but not nearly as much so as her new and unexpected partner, Douglas Farland. What starts as a simple assignment, turns into a full string of mafia connections, murder, secret agents, drug smuggling, and an unwanted attraction to the man and partner who seems the most to blame. As the secrets and lies surface, Mia must trust her instincts, and Douglas, if she wants to make it out alive.
I only have a couple of criticisms for the book. There are a few grammatical errors. There were quite a few instances where after dialog from another character was introduced another paragraph wasn't started, making it difficult to tell who was speaking. Other than that, there were a couple comma errors. Also, at times it is necessary to say he/she instead of using names. Overuse of names can draw a reader out of the book and remind them that they are characters. While caught up in the moment I was pulled from it by Mia did, or Douglas did, etc.
In saying that, I found Relocating Mia to be a fast-paced pleasure read. There weren't many dead spots, as there always seems to be something going on. I didn't find myself disinterested at any time. The setting was especially appealing, as we were able to learn about Russian food and customs without realizing it. It also lays out a great backdrop and history, too. The romantic element wasn't overdone, which I found gratifying, and the climax was laid out well. The characters were attractive and believable. I also liked that we were able to get into the minds of the so-called bad guys, and not just the main characters. It made for a far more remarkable scenario throughout. Relocating Mia captured my attention right from the first page, and held on until the satisfying end.

This book has everything to make a story great - an independent woman, a sexy man, a thrilling assignment in a chilling location and a plot to keep you turning the pages. I took this one to the beach with me and had a hard time putting it down to take a swim. Enjoy Rebecca's first novel and hopefully there will be more.

A great read when relocating yourself!

Many people read books as a way to escape. Others as a way to travel. Still others a way to view the world through someone else's eyes. This book does all three and more. And of all places - Siberia, Russia!

I thoroughly enjoyed Rebecca Lerwill's "Relocating Mia". Ms. Lerwill's fine attention to detail and grasp of the English language is stunning. The reader is compelled to root for the "good guys", despise the bad and feel as though they have been transported to each area in which Ms. Lerwill describes. In the beginning of the book, I found myself slowly drinking in every word, yet by the last one hundred pages, I could not turn the pages fast enough.

As she combines suspense, intrigue, mystery and romance, Ms. Lerwill has some great lines in this book. I would definitely recommend "Relocating Mia" to others and am relieved that her sequel, "The Acronym," has already been released!
