This review is from: The Relocation of the North American Indian (World History) (Library Binding)
My fifth-grade homeschooler and I just finished working with this great book. We both came away with a very clear sense of the heartbreaking history of the Native Americans on our continent. The book is thorough without being burdensome, respectful to the native peoples without being sentimental, well-organized, and straightforward. The text is arranged with an ample number of subtitles that help to organize the information, and while it has useful illustrations on every page, it is not cluttered with all kinds of little picures, facts, captions, and other details that make some children's history books so daunting. For several years, I'd been looking for a good book about Native American history, and this is it! I'd originally used the copy in our library, but decided to buy one because it is the best book of its kind. You simply can't go wrong with this fine book. |
