There is NO straight cord. They no longer sell the straight cord. The spiral cord is the only cord the box. Great headphones though! they are clear and powerful and perfect for dubstep.
First off the build quality is fantastic. The body of it is made of good solid materials with a metal underlay. I have owned this pair for about 8 months and it is still immaculate even though I have carried it around with me to a lot of places. The cans themselves can fold out so you can listen to them that way; after all, these are DJ headphones. Seriously, I judge the build quality of other headphones based off of these things, they are solid as a rock. Oh, and the headphone cord is detatchable, meaning you can buy and break as many cords as you want, but this thing will still keep working!
Sound quality is great for the price. You get a wide ranges of sounds, and the bass can be quite powerful when you want it to be. Comparing these to Bose headphones though, I don't know. I feel like Bose headphones (The AE2 model) have a bit more clarity, but weaker bass.
Indeed, the only real negative about these headphones is the comfort level. For casual or short periods of listening it's perfect, you won't feel much besides the music being pumped into your head. However, 2 and more hours and you will start to feel your ears hurt. I have concluded that this is due to the fact that it hugs your head pretty tightly (that's what she said). This problem is exacerbated a LOTTTT worse when you use the open pads included in the package. In fact, when I started using the other ones, I found I didn't mind the pain nearly as much, and I could go the whole day wearing them, albeit my ears still slightly hurting.Read more ›

These are great headphones for a non club setting. When I am mixing at home or at a lounge they work great. If its super loud you may want to look else where.Published on September 14, 2011 by James W Lane
