I read this story twice and hope there will be more Cassie and Seth to come in future books. They're a fantastic couple even without their super powers.

Cassie is a biological freak and social misfit thanks to her brother's experiements to turn her into a human weapon. But she isn't one to boohoo about her situtation. Even though previous attempts at running away from GenLife lab and Peter have failed, she's giving it another shot. Not just to save herself, but all the other kids Peter is holding captive and experimenting on.

Seth, a reporter back from Afghanistan, happens to be Cassie's unexpected way out, and after some initial hesitation, he steps up to the plate and helps her layout a plan to stop Peter and save the others. Their relationship is funny, sad and emotional as the two discover themselves as well as each other.

Ms. Malone knows her way around romance and this new novella is a fantastic read. I couldn't put it down either time I read it and I'm jonesing for more in the Protector series.

I wish I could give half stars. So I'll just put it here. 3.5 stars. I'm not sure what I was expecting. I thought it would be more paranormal. I guess I don't really consider Superheroes paranormal. I thought there's be a vampire or something in here. But at any rate, it was a surprise. It's a little short, but it's something that can be read in a night. The action was good. And even though there wasn't a vamp or shape-shifter in sight, I enjoyed. it.

The previous reviewer was right. This book is nothing like her first. But I loved every word of it. It's more than your standard romantic suspense. It actually has modern day superheroes in a way that is believable and sustainable for a series. It also wasn't over the top.

The action delivers, and the pace makes the romance believable even though the book takes place a short time frame. And the love scenes -- I'll say one thing, this writer knows how to write hot without making the book all about the sex. The writing is clean and fresh, which I was concerned about at this price point. I'll buy more from her, especially if she writes characters like this. I think she's found her groove with the action adventure writing.

The book starts out with Cassie trying to escape from her cell in Gentech labs, which is run by her brother Peter. Gentach labs was started by Cassie and Peter's father as a way to hopefully find a way to make Cassie healthier. When their father dies Peter takes over the labs. In the process of finding a cure for Cassie, he isolates her from school and friends. When she sneaks out to meet a boy and gets caught Peter takes to locking her in a cell in the labs. Peter experiments on Cassie which makes her healthier but also ends up giving her powers such as telepathy,superhuman strength ect. As Cassie is trying to escape she ends up in the trunk of a car that belongs to a reporter that was at Gentech labs doing a story. Seth finds Cassie in the trunk when he gets a flat tire and they are found by peter's henchmen and chased. Cassie and Seth end up sleeping together and from having sex with her he transforms and gets superhuman powers also. There is love and a lot of action in this book. I bought the new release because I recently read her other book and loved it. I was glad to see she had something else available. Though this book is nothing like the first, I still loved it. Miss Malone puts together a compelling story and you're rooting for Cassie from the first page when she makes an escape. (No that's not a spoiler, you can see for your self in the sneak peak of the book.)

I wonder where she'll go with the next book in the series.

Think a cross between Heroes (NBC) and Fire Starter. The action gets you right off. And this girl is no damsel in distress. She does the butt kicking thank you very much. The romance is hot, but unforced. Seth Is the Mild mannered reporter turned musclebound soldier. Nana Malone delivers. As some one who used to run around repeating "Save the cheerleader, Save the world" and tried very hard to get into Alphas, I'm glad this is going to be a series. I've never seen a superhero romance done. Can't wait until the next one comes out.

Seriously, great cover. Great price too. It's the only reason I tried a book by an author I didn't know. I discovered her following another writer on Twitter and boy am I glad I did. Superheros was something I didn't expect at all, so that was cool. Lots of action and characters I could get behind and understand. All in all it was well done. Both Cassie and Seth are believable and likeable characters.

So I'm working out my new kindle like my husband's going to steal it away. I bought this book this morning and finished it an hour ago. It's a novella, so that was disappointing as I was extremely interested in where the story was going to go. The heroine, Cassie has been experimented on my her brother and he's turned her into a modern day superhero. She's on a mission to rescue the others her evil brother has done this to. Enter Seth Adams, a sexy reporter after a story on Cassie's brother. The two of them have multiple showdowns with the bad guys and live to tell the tale and manage to get down in all the madness.

I guess I didn't check the tags before I purchased, so be warned, it's super hot, but maybe that's my delicate sensibilities! It is a romance after all. If you like JR Ward, you'll probably like this.

There was a good set up for following stories. As it's identified as the Protectors Series, I assume we'll be seeing more from the author. She's got anther book available, but it's a contemporary romance and not related, plus the kindle version is a little pricey at $7.

This was a good read. I'll buy the next in the series when it come out.

Well it is def. racy, so much so that it is in danger of being over the top. It swings between the telekinetic, psychic and super powered main characters escape story to their intimate escapades. The concept was reminiscent of Christine Feehans Games series, with genetically altered humans capable of extraordinary powers. I think the writer needs to either decide what type of genre she is writing, romance or paranormal and then tone one of the storylines down, because one overshadows the other in this book. I received a free copy of this book for my review.

of Tea. I'm more of a thriller girl, not really into Romantic Suspense. I could have gone without the whole romance angle and been fine. But I will say that this was well written, and the characters engaging. It just wasn't for me.
