5.0 out of 5 stars Lift Off Love
The performance of this vacuum is great! Getting the refurbed one has been no problem at all. It looks and performs just as great as the one my mom purchased brand new. What more can you ask for.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good deal for the money...
I just received mine last night. The product looks perfect - no obvious marks or defects. My previous vac. a Kenmore Progressive upright that is about 7 years old. It still works, but I've know it has been losing power for awhile now. I decided to do "the challenge" and vac. with the old one, and then with the new Bissell.

Well, I cleaned only my small living...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good deal for the money..., November 3, 2004

I just received mine last night. The product looks perfect - no obvious marks or defects. My previous vac. a Kenmore Progressive upright that is about 7 years old. It still works, but I've know it has been losing power for awhile now. I decided to do "the challenge" and vac. with the old one, and then with the new Bissell.

Well, I cleaned only my small living room, and had to empty the Bissell dirt container 4 times. On the fifth time I got smart and started dumping it all in a big Ziploc bag to show everybody else (sort of the car-crash theory). It seems to work VERY well on my cat's long hair, but also, it picked up dust specks so fine, it looked like gray powered sugar. I did my whole house and the more I used it, the more it pulled up. This is especially wonderful (but a gross) discovery of how poorly my old vac. was working as I have young children in my house and need to vac. every day. Also: I've shampooed these carpets 2X in the past 3 months. I really thought I was getting the floors clean until I used this machine.

Do I think it is the "world's best"? No. It has some flaws: It is VERY tippy. The handle doesn't "click" upright back into place, so once when I thought it had locked into place, it came crashing down at me. That's scarey with small kids around. It is fairly loud, but if that means more powerful suction, I don't mind. The onboard tools included are just basic. The manual says you can order more, but I think it should have at least included a bare floor brush. I'm going to see if my old ones will fit before I order more from Bissell.

But if you are looking for just an easy-to-use, powerful vac. to do routine cleaning, I think you'll be happy. For less than $100, it was a steal (I don't mind buying re-manuf. items since the warranty still applies). But I wouldn't have spent the $250 or so that my local Sears store wanted.

Suggestions on how this product could have been improved: Less tippy, less noisy, include an on-board dirt indicator, better hand tools. And, oh,yeah, keep it at this price. Sorry if I mention money too much, but I'm on a SUPER tight budget, and I'm thrilled I could just afford ANY new vac. The fact that I could and it WORKS as well as it does - well, that's incredible to me!

I just received my new vacuum and so far I'm very happy with it. It went together very easily and wasn't missing anything. The suction was great, the dirt cup was easy to empty (my old Fantom dirt cup was a pain to empty), and I LOVE the detachable canister part. I already ordered the stair accessory from the Bissell website so I can vaccum my stairs at the same time I'm doing the rest of my floors. Another feature I like is that the beater brush turns off to do bare floors - lots of those in my new house.

My only 'complaint'? It's GREEN!!! I guess it doesn't matter, but I did think the candy apple red looked sharp. It actually matches my house a little better now - it's a very muted sage green - but I was a bit surprised when I opened the box since it says "red" right in my order. I e-mailed Amazon to make sure it's correct, but I'm assuming it's correct because all the features are right.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good power but some flaws, May 12, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Remanufactured Bissell 3750R Lift-Off Bagless Vacuum, Red (Kitchen)
Refurb unit arrived fine, looked almost new.

The unit itself works great on floors, however, the liftoff canister really doesn't do a very good job on the stairs with animal hair. You need to lift the unit with the brush on the stairs to really do a good job, and the unit was not meant to do that, so it is very cumbersome.

My additional complaint is that the brush assembly and belt failed after about 4 to 6 months of regular (infrequent) use. It cost $30 to get replacement parts as they are not covered under warranty and considered regular wear and tear items. I've done further searching online and found many others with similar complaints. The brush assembly is made of plastic and seems to be prone to failure. I don't want to be spending $30 every 6 months to keep this vacuum going which is my biggest fear based on the other information I have found.

Overall though it does do a wonderful job on regular floors and extremely easy to clean.

2.0 out of 5 stars too many filters, July 27, 2005
This review is from: Remanufactured Bissell 3750R Lift-Off Bagless Vacuum, Red (Kitchen)
Bagless is great, but filter-less would be better. This model has 3 separate filters that have to be cleaned ALL THE TIME. When the filters are all perfectly clean, it works great. BUT, who wants to take out these dusty dirty filters and wash them all the time? And the canister that you empty the dirt out of is small, so you have to empty it frequently. I have a dog and a cat, and a two year old, so I am vacuuming a lot, and this was not the purchase I had hoped it would be.

3.0 out of 5 stars Vacuum is OK, but warranty is only 90-day!, January 28, 2005

The vacuum cleaner works OK for the price. I vacuum the floor with it and follow with my dirt devil platinum force and pick up dirt that this one missed. But this will not get anything after going over the floor with the dirt devil first.

The detachable canister is awesome for stairs and vehicles, although the stair attachment must be ordered separately. One item of note is that the warranty is only 90 days, not the year stated in the item description.

I love this vacuum -- the dust cup is EASY to empty, it has a slide-lock. The two washable filters are very easy to get to & clean, and the instructions for that are right on the dust cup! No mysteries!!! It does a great job, and my husband seems to love the little removable canister for cleaning up around his "projects". I have dogs, cats, kids, men, and thick wool rugs - It's gotten a lot of use already & no problems at all.

4.0 out of 5 stars LIFT OFF - NOT BAD FOR THE PRICE, March 9, 2005

This review is from: Remanufactured Bissell 3750R Lift-Off Bagless Vacuum, Red (Kitchen)
the minute i first saw the bissell lift off in that nice red metallic color i wanted it. i have hated my hoover wind tunnel for way too long & when i found the bissell lift off in a refurb i figured for the price i'd give it a go. 1st let me say that the product was pictured and noted as RED and that it carried a 1 yr warranty. the warranty info caught my eye as it was unusual for a refurb. so i contacted amazon and rec'd info that it did indeed come w/ a 1yr warranty. when the machine arrived i noticed 2 things immediately: 1) it was not RED it was green & 2) it clearly only came w/ a 90 day warranty. 1st i contacted bissell re: the color to get some background info. you NEVER see this vacuum in any other color than red so i wanted to be sure i had rec'd the correct item. bissell assured me it did come in many colors; some stores wanted their own colors etc and that the green color actually came out after the red so it was the same vacuum. altho i really did like the red color; i wasn't buying it bec of color so i let it go, albeit disappointed. then i contacted amazon about the error in warranty. this was a selling feature for me as i had found other sites w/ refurbs that added additional time to the warranty themselves to equal 1 yr. amazon admitted the mistake and stated in my case they will honor a 1yr warranty and corrected the info on their site.
all that said: how does the vacuum work? well it is definitely quieter than the hoover wind tunnel - & lighter to push around. i love the fact - NO MORE BAGS! & having to empty the container is no biggy. it went together in a snap; very little assembly. it does a great job cleaning. not much else to say really. i used a newly acquired amazon credit card which offered $30off my 1st purchase so i got the vacuum for $69! you can't beat that.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bissell 3750R Vacuum - Who's responsible?, March 9, 2005
This review is from: Remanufactured Bissell 3750R Lift-Off Bagless Vacuum, Red (Kitchen)
I've owned 2 other Bissel Vacuums. The first lift off Bissell made which I absolutely loved as it would clean carpets to hard floors without changing a thing.

I then purchased the Clearview which is a piece of junk. It is so bad on hard floors that it isn't worth the trouble to use it.

So now onto the 3750R!

Since I loved the early lift off which by the way also was refurbished, I decided to look into the 3750R. I read the reveiws which put me in the middle but decided to purchase anyway. I received it 3/5/05, unboxed it, put it together and found the brush would not work. I did notice it was scratched from use but the rest looked OK. I also noticed that it was green instead of red. HMMM? Did it come from a hotel which beat it to death?

I called Bissell and the gentleman I spoke with told me that he didn't know why anyone would buy a refurbished product online. I said I thought this came from Bissell. He did not comment. He tried to help me to get the brush to work but no luck. He gave the choice of having repaired locally or sending it back at Bissell's expense and having it replaced. I opted to have it replaced which will take a few weeks so I'm withut a vacuum for awhile.

So back to my title. Who's responsible??? Amazon.com??? Bissell has to make good for Amazon.com's blunders or very poor decision making?

I will not be purchasing any refurbished product from Amazon.com in the future and may not purchase from them ever again!

I hope Amazon reads this review and makes some better decisions.

I'm giving 3 stars because Bissell will stand behind their product. I would give 0 stars to Amazon.com!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Vacuum Ever, December 22, 2004
This review is from: Remanufactured Bissell 3750R Lift-Off Bagless Vacuum, Red (Kitchen)
This vacuum is nice. I was expecting it to be loud but it wasn't. It removed dirt I didn't know I had. Purchase this vacuum and I promise you, you won't regret it. I am very pleased. I was thinking about getting another, afraid I'd miss this one if I ever had to part with it. Very easy to assemble. It is "hot"
