I hesitated to put down so much money for a blender with a company I hadn't any experience. What an amazing product and what an amazing company. Mine worked perfectly for a few weeks and then the motor stopped working (it was a refurbished one I got from Amazon). Breville was just the best! They sent me a packaging return label by email within the hour and had a new one to me within a week. The motor wasn't repairable so they just sent a new one. With this kind of customer service on their products and they way Breville stands behind their product just amazed me. The blender is also great. I will not hesitate to plunk down money for a Breville product again. The blender is a great product. My daughter throws whatever she wants in her smoothie in there and it has a pulsing action that moves everything around and up and down. Perfect smoothie everytime: no scraping the sides down or having to stir it down mid-blend. I tried crushed ice: perfect sno-cone thin shavings. The buttons light up when you power it on and it has 3 modes: blend, smoothie and ice. The instructions tell you to hold the lid down with your hand when you have a lot in there because the blender is so powerful it does tend to push the lid up. Also, the lid is super easy to wash and the plug is just a breeze to remove for adding things while you are blending. Perfect mayo. The jar is polycarbonate and I'm in love with it. When you're done blending, you unscrew the blade, rinse the gasket and blade and the jar is clean with a rinse of water. Clean up is just great. No stuck stuff at the bottom. No sticking sponges around the blades to dislodge a berry. The whole thing comes apart and is easily cleaned with a rinse a water and a touch of soap. I used to run soap and water in my old blender after I used it so it would be easier to clean. The glass jar was heavy and the blades were sharp and close to the edges of the jar. I hated having to wash it and sometimes used to avoid blending and use a food processor or mixer because it was a pain to clean. It is such a nice looking blender: brushed metal and sleek design and a square form, that I keep it on my kitchen counter. We had a party recently and everyone in the kitchen had mixed drinks with it so they could play with blender (foodie geeks). I recommend this blender to anyone who uses a blender. It is easily worth the money for the use you can get out of it and you get a super company that stands behind their product to boot.

I was a little leery about buying something that was refurbished, but I'm so glad that I did. Half Price!! -What a deal. It comes out of the box just like a brand new one. -Fabulous Blender. - I phoned Breville to find out if the Polycarbonate Pitcher was BPA free and they said that if it has the measurements written in red, then it is BPA free.. if the writing is in blue, then it's not BPA free. This refurbished one that I bought here on Amazon has the measurements in red, so I'm happy. I also asked them about buying a replacement gasket so that I would have one on hand if it's ever necessary, they do sell them for $10 plus shipping.Apart from the obvious wonders of the motor, the one minute timer and the looks, the other aspect of this blender that I love love love is that it's so easy to clean. It's all dishwasher safe but it's actually as easy to rinse out than it would be to put it into the dishwasher.. when you remove the one piece blade system the opening into the pitcher part is big enough for me to fit my whole hand into, and the blade part screws into the pitcher directly, so you have only have two parts to clean, -this is such an improvement on my old blender. Finally, I never knew what a difference a good blender could make to a smoothie...The ice crystals in my previous smoothies never bothered me, but now that I've had the Breville experience I don't think I could ever go back.. My new smoothies taste more like milkshakes. I'm really glad that I bought a refurbished model. I'll come back and update if I have any problems and let you know how the customer service experience went.. It's April 2010 now, if this is the end of the review you can take it that I'm still going strong and extremely happy. :D

Have had this blender for about a month and have used it every single day. The Blade makes easy work of frozen fruit and protein powders are no longer chalky tasting after a whirl in this machine. I have never spent this much on a blender before and I can honestly say it is worth every cent.

At 46 years old, I needed to supplement my diet with whey protein smoothies. So far my Breville is a beast. I use it almost daily to create some tasty energy and recovery drinks for my workouts. It's advertised Remanufactured but it looks and acts brand-spankin-new. Its a little noisy but what BEAST wouldn't be. Try this: 3 cups of soy milk, 1 cup of yogurt, a taste of honey, a handful of frozen strawberries, 1 banana, 2 scoops of whey, and BAM the Breville will blend a Smoothie, that'll make you slap your mama.

I have been looking at the more powerful blenders for years but hesitated because of the high prices. Intrigued with this Breville blender because of its wattage and blade action (Blender has 4 blades instead of 2). Blades scrape the sides of the container, no need for a spatula. Also, I have confidence in this brand as I have the Breville Smart Oven which is absolutely "the Best!" Bottom line: this blender crushes ice to "snow cone" consistency, in seconds. I've used an Oster, a Cuisinart and Kitchen Aid, NONE COMPARE to the Breville.

Really enjoy using my new blender. I make a smoothie every morning with it. Love the self pulse on the smoothie setting. Very good looking appliance. Easy to clean, comes completely apart. If you are buying I would purchase a second gasket.. with removing it so much it will wear out eventually. When making a larger quantity it does jump around a bit.. So far that is the only downside to it.

We are coming from a stainless steel Cuisinart model and have had this blender for approximately +/- 1 month. I mainly use it to make protein shakes twice a day.Pros: + Form factor. The design alone gets 5 stars as this blender looks elegant & classy. Not that design should be the only factor in choosing an appliance but we thought our previous blender looked pretty good. Side by side this one really put it to shame. Consider that a bonus. + Quiet. Well at least compared to our old Cuisinart that was REALLY loud through the entire blending process. The Breville starts a little noisy as it chops the ice but the db's drop quite a bit past the first 5 or so seconds. No longer does my family complain that it annoys them while I am blending. + LARGE 2-liter polycarbonate jug with a soft grip handle. + Powerful motor. + Clean up is quick & easy. + Power cord wraps around the bottom of the unit. + Assist lid / power cord. You can pull either off/out with one finger The following aren't really cons (therefore no stars were deducted) but some personal preferences or methods previously used that might be considered. - Since the jar is BPA-free plastic, it will scratch if cleaning brush is used. - No digital timer / display. - At 18.25" height, this blender is tall and might not fit under cabinets. Recently Amazon had it for only +/- $105.00. Stock always runs out fast so if you can score it for that price, jump on it... you will not be disappointed.

Ok, everyone's experience is always different and I'm never sure about how to feel about buying a refurbished product but so far this Breville is the cat's meow! If you've been seriously contemplating the purchase of a Vitamix or BlendTec and are suffering from sticker shock, you really need to check out this Breville. I sound like a commercial but it really has been impressive in the 2 months we've owned it. Very impressive for the price, the form and the function. We bought it primarily for smoothies and baby food. It makes GREAT smoothies and when the baby arrives, I'm quite certain it'll perform well for the baby food as well. This blender is the epitome of form meeting function as the design was well thought out. It cleans up very easily too. One of our primary concerns was the composition of the jar. While we're not paranoid about every little thing in life, we've read enough about BPA-free containers to choose a product that was BPA-free and simply take one more element out of the "health concern" equation. Just make sure that the quantity markings on the container are red as the newer BPA-free Jar uses red print, that is if you're concerned about the Bisphenol A or BPA, an organic compound used to make polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins for food and beverage containers. The chemical has been shown to leech into the foods and beverages that hold them, causing a variety of health issues. That said, this blender rocks! Thank you Breville for the great product and thank you Amazon for the conduit for purchasing a great refurb product! I've never owned a Breville product before but based on this purchase, we'll be purchasing more Breville products in the future.

I've had this unit for about a month now (remanufactured item). It arrived from the seller in like new condition, but it wasn't working. I called them and they immediately sent a replacement. Once I got a functional unit, I put it to work making smoothies, pretty much 7 days a week. I load these things up with stuff like spinach, yogurt, fruit juices and various fresh and frozen fruits. The blender does a quick job with all of the ingredients and rarely leaves anything (save for the occasional piece of frozen strawberry) unblended. It's substantially more powerful than what I used to own, has more capacity and yet is about 50% quieter than my old model. The unit is a bit heavy, but very well built - I believe this is going to last awhile. I'm very pleased with the unit and would say it's worth purchasing at full price if you can't find the remanufactured version. This is my first Breville product, I'll be looking forward to trying more.

Power and durability are all I want in a blender and this has both. I've only had it a few months but it's often used twice a day and I have yet to hear the motor strain even the tiniest bit.The Breville is a little different than most blenders. It will not whip and froth a smoothie as quickly as a cheapie blender; it has more blades and more power, but it runs slower, so expect to leave it on a little longer. In smoothie mode it pulses by itself and shuts off when done. No more periodic scraping with a spatula and blending some more. It took me a while to get used to this appliance doing it's own thing. I also like the large capacity and easy cleaning. My first reaction was that this thing is a bit odd but this blender would probably liquify concrete. Hopefully it lasts forever. |
