The Canon imageCLASS D661 digital copier/printer is intended for businesses that need a robust copier with maintenance-free performance. It features Canon's exclusive Single Cartridge System, which contains the drum, development unit and toner in one easily replaceable cartridge. The imageCLASS D661 yields approximately 5,000 black-and-white copies at 5 percent density, for an economical $0.03 per copy. A 30-sheet automatic document feeder can accept originals up to legal size and reproduce letter-size documents at up to 13 copies-per-minute (cpm) and legal-size documents at up to 10 cpm (copies per minute). Digital technology, through the touch of a single button, facilitates collating of multi-page documents.

The imageCLASS D661 features Canon's Advanced Printing Technology for high-quality laser prints with a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi. For added flexibility and user convenience, the imageCLASS D660 supports both parallel and USB interfaces. The imageCLASS D661 offers fast, efficient paper handling through a 500-sheet front-loading paper cassette and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray, which accepts a variety of media, including bond, plain and colored paper, transparencies, labels and envelopes, for fast, no-worry operation.

I purchased two of these copiers at the same time. one works fine. The other has a paper jam sensor bad. Warranty work has to be brought in to the repair facility that is 39 miles away through heavy traffic. Or else I have to pay the freight to and from the facility. This seems wrong when it comes out of the box not working. Amazon's warranty says it can be returned if the box is not opened. How can you check to see if it is working without opening the box?

I will most likley not buy from Amazon for any product that is a working piece of equipment.

I will not recommend to anyone of my 1500+ clients to buy from Amazon.

i had this machine at home for about three years (and the model below it at work for at least five years) and both gave me nothing but thousands of crisp and clear copies every time!
i use it only as stand alone copier, never hooked up to a pc or a mac. would buy it again!

I'm not a high volume user, just a business-in-home owner. I use this machine as a standalone AND a printer, and have for almost two years. It works better than I thought possible. I first had difficulty in connecting my computer for the printer function; the serial port did not work, but USB port did. I find that the toner cartridge is good for a higher print count than most copiers and cost much less, by half, than most others do. I can't give enough praise about this machine and the good, crisp sharp fast copies it creates. Zero warmup time. What a machine! It's the perfect machine for a small office.
