problem with hinges,
This review is from: Remanufactured Toshiba Satellite P25-S526 17" Notebook PC (Intel Pentium 4, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB Hard Drive, DVD-RW/CD-RW Drive) (Personal Computers)
The 17" screen looks awesome, but it is so heavy that the hinges holding it give in after some time. It starts with mild cracking sound when you close or open the laptop, but then the hinge may break suddenly. Lubricating is of limited help.

The computer is good overall. Nice fast processor. If you want something to replace your desktop computer this is it. The notebook is large and heavy and the right LCD hinge broke on me. I bought some used ones on EBAY to fix it. But the hinge broke off the inside frame under the LCD screen so I had to "jerry rig" it back together. I love Toshiba notebooks and have bought a couple more. Usually they hold up very well.
