Complete and utter crap,
This review is from: The Remarkable Birth of Planet Earth (Paperback)
This book is a waste of time and of the trees sacrificed to its production. It is full of crap. Here's an example: The craters on the Moon were caused by a cosmic battle between the forces of Satan and the armies of the archangel Michael. Not even the Bible says this because not even the Bible's authors knew of the craters. Trust this man and give up a few dozen IQ points.

ANOTHER "BRIEF" OVERVIEW OF "YOUNG EARTH" CREATIONISM,
By
This review is from: The Remarkable Birth of Planet Earth (Paperback)
Henry M. Morris (1918-2006) was one of the foremost biblical creationists of the late 20th century; he was also the author/coauthor of books such as The Genesis Flood the Biblical Record and Its Scientific Implications, The Scientific Case for Creation, Scientific Creationism, What Is Creation Science?, etc.He wrote in the Preface to this 1972 book, "This book has been written in order to give busy, but interested, readers a brief summary of both Biblical and scientific reasons for believing in creation instead of evolution... The purpose of this book is to give a solid, though brief, treatment of the major aspects of the question of origins. The supposed evidences for evolution are shown to be incapable of more satisfactory interpretation in terms of creation, and the unresolved difficulties of the evolutionary theory are shown to be positive evidences for creation." Here are some additional quotations from the book: "...there are numerous localities around the world where supposedly older and simpler fossils have been deposited in layers vertically above layers containing 'younger,' more complex fossils... there seems to be no known present physical process that could produce such a gigantic 'overthrust' as this." (Pg. 22-23) "Simple marine organisms tend to be found buried at the lower elevations in the geological column for the simple reason that they lived at the lowest elevations. Birds and mammals are found in the more "recent" geological epochs mainly because they lived at higher elevations and had greater mobility." (Pg. 28) "One location in central Texas has yielded at least two dozen man-like tracks along with the dinosaur tracks." (NOTE: in the January 1986 edition of the ICR's "Impact" publication (#151) John Morris admitted that "certain of the prints once labeled human are taking on a completely different character," and now appear to be prints of some unidentified three-toed dinosaur, and that "it would now be improper for creationists to continue to use the Paluxy data as evidence against evolution, in the light of these questions.") "The cause of the extinction of the dinosaurs is, of course, still a mystery to uniformitarian geologists even today. However, the Flood and its devastating residual effects on post-diluvian climates and food supplies constitute an adequate solution to the mystery." (Pg. 32) "The so-called 'cave men,' such as Neanderthal man and Cro-Magnon man, were not half-brutish ape-men as many assume. They made fine cave paintings, cultivated flowers, and buried their dead." (Pg. 46) "Is it even possible that the 'light' bathing the earth on the first three days was created in space as en route from the innumerable 'light bearers' which were yet to be constituted on the fourth day." (Pg. 62) "...how is it that some processes do at least fairly consistently give such great ages?... The initial 'apparent age' of all such systems, has, of course, been affected by the earth's subsequent history, especially the Curse and the Flood." (Pg. 93-94)

Bad Science, Bad Theology,
By KP Stark (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Remarkable Birth of Planet Earth (Paperback)
Perhaps the most honest of the creationist books Morris has published, The Remarkable Birth of the Planet Earth makes it absolutely clear creationism is actually nothing more than fundamentalist Christianity masquerading as science. Consider the following quote from the book:"The only Bible-honoring conclusion is, of course, that Genesis I-II is the actual historical truth, regardless of any scientific or chronologic problems thereby entailed." -- Henry Morris, The Remarkable Birth of the Planet Earth, p. 82 In other words, no scientific fact is allowed to take precedence over Morris's interpretation of the Bible! That works in church, but it isn't science. In fact, Morris himself argues that scientific investigation is unnecessary when the Bible already has the answers! "The only way we can determine the true age of the earth is for God to tell us what it is. And since he has told us, very plainly, in the Holy Scriptures that it is several thousand years in age, and no more, that ought to settle all basic questions of terrestrial chronology."-- Henry Morris, The Remarkable Birth of the Planet Earth, p. 94 It's truly remarkable that anyone could call this kind of thinking science, but this is exactly what "scientific creationism" is all about. This book belongs on the shelf of everyone who wonders if there is any science in "creation science." A quick re-read will quash any doubts.

This is a great little book to read on Creation. This is one author you can trust when it comes to the subject. Treat this little book more as a summary, however, of certain issues. Don't just rely on this book. I suggest reading the "Genesis Record" or "The Genesis Flood" for further details. As a quick little guide, its good for a new reader or an introduction. The earth and all that is in it is certainly remarkable, but even more remarkable is the Creator that is shown through Creation.
"But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind." Job 12:7-10

As a student of Creation vs Evolution, I have read many books, documents, etc., about this subject. The Remarkable Birth Of The Planet Earth by Henry Morris demolishes Darwinism and proves it to be mathmatically and scientifically IMPOSSIBLE!! Get this little book before it's too late. Read it, read it again. You'll be glad you did. Signed Dean Flowers
