A short but indispensable compilation,

John Train claims to've corroborated the remarkable occurrences in his book, but I give him only 4 stars for not providing references. Perhaps some of these "True Remarkable Occurrences" are only urban legends.
That aside, lovers of anecdote will want this book. The porn starlet who, trying to cash a check without ID, displayed her naked torso as a match for the centerfold she was carrying. The sultan who liked to mount his horse by using a slave as a springboard, and simulteously decapitating the slave with a blow from his scimitar. The German couple dining in China who wanted their dog taken to the kitchen to be fed, and were soon thereafter brought a platter with ... |
