This book is a great positive surprise. I have many books by Rembrandt is my great inspiration in the art of painting. These are works that I have not seen before, and that the colors are very well reproduced.

I was blessed enough to be able to see this exhibition in person. I would have bought this book then and there but they were completely sold out. I was so happy to see that I could buy this here online. It is the perfect companion to what was presented at the museum. The reproductions are the best of quality and they are numerous as well. Rembrandt has been a life-long inspiration for me as an artist and is in my mind the standard by which all other artists ought to be measured. I have a few other Rembrandt books and I refer to them often. This one is my new favorite. It has more than a few pictures that I had never even seen before I attended the exhibit, which is always a treat when you are so familiar with an artist's work, like discovering a new sonnet by Shakespeare perhaps. It is excellent.

This is a great book on the Rembrandt currently in American collections; this being an art book the reproductions are very good quality, and with the exception of the Rembrandt book, nothing out in the market tops this book for those not only looking to get insight into Rembrandt in America, but Rembrandt as an artist in general. The writing is another pleasant surprise, written in an accessible and engaging way....ultimately its a must have for any Rembrandt or art enthusiast in general. Five thumbs up

We attend this show in Minneapolis and did not purchase a guide to the exhibition at the time. Some months later, we looked online and found it. Nice to be able to revisit the show!
