No reason why gunpowder, treason and plot- should ever be forgot.,
This review is from: Remember, Remember (the Fifth of November): Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About British History with All the Boring Bits Taken Out (Hardcover)
This small 182 page book gives a summary of British history from the Roman invasion to the founding of the United Nations. The goal of the author was to sum up British history in no more than 150 entries, no longer than 250 words long. It is concise, but I wish that the cover would not have included "with all the boring bits taken out", because I was expecting more of the interesting `fun' parts that can make history memorable and appealing to someone who is not a dyed in the wool history buff. As a reference and a summary the book is fine, but it is dry and factual, most would not think the boring bits had been taken out.

This review is from: Remember, Remember (the Fifth of November): Everything You've Ever Wanted to Know About British History with All the Boring Bits Taken Out (Hardcover)
This is a very good, highly condensed British history. I would say more, but if this book is for you, you wouldn't have time to read it.
