3.0 out of 5 stars Romantic and Suspensful, but predictable
I am a big fan of Sharon Sala's and have read all of her books, including her others written under Dinah McCall. "Remember Me" was very romantic and the characters were well developed, but it lacked in suspense. There was only one way the book could have possibly ended, which made it predictable. I enjoyed the book, but I don't think it was one of her...

5.0 out of 5 stars Moving and memorable romance, November 30, 1999
Frankie and Clay LeGrand were still newlyweds when one day Clay comes home from work to find his wife missing. Vanished, without a trace. A broken coffee cup and blood in the bathroom were the only traces of her. Clay is frantic to find his wife, but the police think that she either ran away or that Clay killed her. For two years Clay is the main suspect of his wife's disappearance.

Two years later Clay comes home from work to find his wife in his bed sleeping. When she awakens she doesn't realize that two years has passed and thinks everything is as it was. More alarming is the tattoo she now has and the track marks on her arms. Where has she been? Frankie has amnesia and Clay doesn't trust his wife.

Determined to prove that she did not leave Clay on purpose, Frankie tries to unravel the past two years. Only she finds more questions than answers and a distrustful husband. Where was she? What could she have been doing? Who was she living with? Obvious by the expensive clothes and money she had on her when she came home she was being taken care of somehow, but by who?

Slowly Clay and Frankie learn to accept that past two years and love again, but the past is always there to haunt them. Will the person who took Frankie come back for her again?

From the author of Sweet Baby and Reunion, Sharon Sala once again writes a moving and memorable romance with characters that come alive and really make the reader care for them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Readers will remember this vibrant romance, November 21, 1999
After a year and a day of marriage, Francesca and Clay LeGrand still act like newlyweds, even making love before they go to work. All day long on the job, Clay remains distracted as he looks forward to returning to his beloved Frankie. That night, Clay enters his home to find Frankie missing. A panic-stricken Clay calls the police who investigate the disappearance of Frankie. The police, the media, and the public accuse Clay of killing Frankie, but no evidence exists to convict the alleged culprit.

Two years later, Clay remains under a dark cloud with only his parents believing in his innocence. He enters his home only to find Frankie lying in bed with a greeting as if she never vanished. On her arms are needle marks while on her neck is an Egyptian ankh. Additionally, she suffers from selective amnesia, failing to remember anything related to the last two years.. The love between them still beats, but Clay is incapable of trusting his spouse. Insisting she did not flee from him, a frightened Frankie tells Clay that whoever abducted her will come back for her.

Readers will remember this novel for a long time to come because REMEMBER ME never eases up on sexual tension and growing suspense for even an iota. The angst-laden story line will stun the audience with its pace and genuine feel as if the scenario occurred to a neighbor. The bitter-sweet reunion provides an exciting and poignant subplot that helps focus on the central theme. Sharon Sala is simply sensational with this superb romantic suspense.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sala Soars!, July 11, 2000
In "Remember Me", Ms. Sala gives us a complete, intriguing, and loving story. Francesca and Clay LaGrand simply soar as compelling characters.

Several times while reading, I found myself clutching this smooth book to my chest and questioning, ".....would I, could I, be THAT strong if I lost two years of my life & all my loved ones thought I had been dead....and then to get everything back, I had to overcome a stranger, a horrifying stalker, could I do that?....".

This is a fast paced read. Very well written for the genre. Rich, textural & moving. Read it & remember its lessons well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Romantic thriller you won't be able to put down!!, November 9, 2004

A BEP 090 Student (Garden City, New York) - See all my reviews
This book had me from the moment I started reading it. This is my first Sharon Sala book and I know it will be one of my favorite romance thrillers. Frankie and Clay are so happy in love, until Clay comes home and Frankie is gone, and he finds blood. No one knows where she is. Sala keeps you reading and at the end of each chapter, keeps you hanging on the edge to read more and more. Frankie shows up two years later acting like nothing has happened, and she has last seen her husband a "few hours ago." After Clay is asking Frankie questions, she thinks her husband is nothing but drunk and out of his mind. He sees bruises on her, and marks that looks like needles were through her, but she has never done any kind of drugs before. She ends up in the hospital after passing out. What happened to Frankie? Was she in an accident? Kidnapped? Robbed? Did she purposely just walk out of her husbands life? Will Frankie open up and remember what has happened after returning to her husband? Is it going to take time? If she was running away from her husband, Can he ever trust her again? Frankie gets these sudden flashbacks, What is causing them? Are they pretend or real? These questions that are left unanswered will keep you reading more. I definitly recommend this book!!

I decided to give this book a try after reading all the reviews. I was so into this book, I read it in 2 days. I felt like Frankie and Clay were my best friends; I got so wrapped up in this terrible ordeal. I felt so helpless! The love Frankie and Clay had for eachother was awesome. The way the book ended left me with such a smile on my face :) I will continue to read Sharon Sala and am glad I have found such a great author!

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC PAGE TURNER!, November 18, 1999

I loved this book. It was great from start to finish. The characters great. One of the things I appreciated most is that Clay and Frankie's love was believable. Their was suspense mixed in too. You never knew when the "villan" or his croonies were going to drop back in. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read romance. I plan on rereading it. Wonderful book. Please write more like this Sharon Sala.
