"Remember the Titans" is a fantastic collection of popular songs from the late '60s and early '70s. There's not a single track on this CD that I skip ahead when it comes on. That says a lot, since we all skip through at least some of the songs on most CDs. Not this one, it's great. The first track "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" is easy to sing along with and is a great feel-good song. "Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum is another instantly recognizable tune, and one that you'll turn the volume up for. Cat Stevens' "Peace Train" is much more folksy than "Spirit" but it too is a great song that is very catchy. The obligatory one-hit wonder Steam's "Kiss Him Goodbye" is another one that's good - but not to be over-listened to. The Hollies' "Long Cool Woman (in a Black Dress" is an upbeat rock tune to tap your foot to. And well you can read the other tracks listed. What else is worth noting: Eric Burdon & War's classic "Spill the Wine" at Track 8 and the only original piece of the soundtrack, the nearly 7:00 selection from the Boaz Yazkin's original score. The only disappointment is that some very good songs used in the movie--most notably, "The Time Has Come Today" (The Chamber Brothers), "Fire & Rain" (James Taylor), and "Heard It Through the Grapevine" (Marvin Gaye)--are not included on the disc. So if you're looking to get these ones, be aware that they're not here. But everything that IS here is great. So definitely pick this one up anyway!

Remember the 70's?,

"Remember the Titians" is a realistic feature that triggers a lot of emotions, and it demands a good soundtrack. But good doesn't even do justice to this; GREAT is more like it1 You'll almost forget you're listening to a movie soundtrack, more like a typical recollection of 70's hits. "Aint No Mountain High Enough" and "Na Na Na Na" steal the show; also noteable are "I Want to Take You Higher" and "Spirit in the Sky". On another note completly, this is one of Disney's best soundtracks for a live action feature EVER--keep it up, Disney! Usually, soundtracks for live-action movies just include instrullmental tracks, and don't appeal to many people as albums to purchase. But this one ROCKS DOWN THE HOUSE! I wish ALL of today's live action movies turned out such good music. Don't you agree?

I sat and looked at the movie again tonight after it sat in the cabinet for a long while. The movie and the soundtrack makes one think about the days gone by and how we (the people) got along. The film is history, the soundtrack takes you back to days gone by. This film is a good investment of music that will never grow old or die. It will live forever as part of history. Invest and enjoy. You'll be glad you did. It is a great mix of how soulful, hip-hop, classical, and rock can come together to make an exciting soundtrack that will go down in the history books.

This soundtrack brings back memories from one of the best movies I have seen in along time. I was a teenager in the seventies and our music was the best. See the movie and buy the soundtrack, you'll love it, too.

I picked up this soundtrack almost immediately after I saw this movie in theater. It's one of the best soundtracks I've ever purchased. This one has a lot of great oldies on it from a lot of big artists. You've got "Aint No Mountain High Enough" from Marvin Gaye which is a great song. There's "Up Around the Bend by CCR. You also have "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress by The Hollies. "Spirit of the Sky" is also here by Norman Greenbaum. To top it off you also have "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss him Goodbye" by Steam to top off all the hits. It's a hit powered soundtrack that can please a big age gap. I was a little disappointed with the Titans Score. I like the song in the movie but they didn't get right on the soundtrack. Thats the only knock I can put down on this soundtrack. Other than that it's perfect. I love this soundtrack. My parents love this one a lot. It's one of the better ones I own and if you loved the movie you have to pick this up.

This is a great sing-along CD especially right after you've won some sort of game. Ain't No Mountain High Enough is an awesome song, but there are also other good hits such as Up Around the Bend by CCR and Na Na Na Na Kiss him Good-bye. This CD is a lot of fun and makes you remember some of the funnier scenes from the movie.

Wow. I grew up a little after this era in Northern California where racism wasn't an issue. This was a wonderful historically accurate movie with an amazing soundtrack! After watching the movie (which is also a 5) we ordered the soundtrack and now cannot help dancing and singing along with the great tunes selected for the CD. This is a collection that the whole family can enjoy and when you listen to it, you just feel good. "Peace Train" could not be more appropriate as well as "Spirit in the Sky". Very fun and upbeat CD. I bought one for my brother-in-law so he could sing along with "Act Naturally" at his birthday party. This is a must have for your collection.

I get chills!,

When I saw this movie, I laughed, I cried, and I cheered...and what helped to heighten these feel-good emotions was this music - it played such an important role in creating the wonderful mood in the movie that it deserves an oscar for "best supporting role". I can't listen to Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" without getting chills down my spine, just thinking about the awesome feeling I get when people come together in love and respect for one another. If that's not what music is about, I don't know what is.
