Remember the Year Brings Back Memories, January 13, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Remember the Year (Paperback)
Though I am not old enough to "remember the year," I well remember growing up some fifty years ago in a small South Carolina town, and the setting, characters, and dialogue are true to that time and place. The authors tell a good story, and I can picture the places they mention: Pawleys Island, Columbia, Charleston, even the mythical town of Madison. The authors write in such a way that the reader begins to believe he knows the characters. I enjoyed this chronicle of the events occuring in a small town at the beginning of World War II and think others would, too, and now that I "know" the Merrits, Gaillards, and Walkers, I hope there will be a sequel; I want to know what happened during the next year and the next.
