5.0 out of 5 stars Loved It!! January 2, 2013

I really enjoyed "Remembered". Truth be told I am not usually a fantasy/romance type of girl, but from the beginning I couldn't help falling in love with the characters and was quickly drawn into their worlds, both of them! E.D. Brady has way of writing romance that highlights the depth of the main character's love without making it sappy and annoying. "Remembered" is a wonderful story and I am happy it is a trilogy, I have already purchased the next two in the series and am excited to get started and see what is in store for Annie and Kellus! Oh..and I am hoping there is more about Cappy!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Clearly needs a lot of work April 22, 2013

Ok, 20 out of the 31 reviewers on Amazon gave this book 5 out of 5 stars. Did we read the same book?

This book clearly has a lot of weak areas. The main character, Emily, grabs your attention right away, but the other characters & settings seem to only exist when she is around. World building seems non-existent.

Clearly, even without `trilogy: book 1' in the title, this is the first book in the story. Shouldn't that mean that this is the book to bring the readers into the world of Vistrira? Should we not be given a clear picture of this world? Is it an island? Is it surrounded by mountains? Who are its neighbors? Enemies? Who are its rulers? How is society structured? Does it have a religion? How common is magic? Do they have electricity, indoor plumbing? Once scene has Emily making breakfast using frozen bacon, they have freezers? Really? They use horses and carriages to get around and they have freezers? When her sister becomes ill, her brother has to run into town to get a healer. And sorry (slight spoiler) how could the main character not know that the man she loves belongs to the wealthiest family in the area?? I mean, really? They live within walking distance of each other! I don't care how modest his family is.

I would like to see where the story leads, but I am not sure that I want to spend $7.98 to get the other two Kindle books.

Here is what I look at to come up with a score of any book that I read:

Total score out of a possible 5 - 2.17
Character - 3
Plot - 2
Theme - 1
Style - 3
Setting - 0
Entertaining? 4

5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting... March 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Wow, hadn't expected to enjoy this book even half as much as I did! A tale that is beautifully told, well-paced, with a unique story line. I found the story wholly unpredictable and eagerly turned (or should that be tapped on a kindle..?) the pages to see what would happen next, often finding myself totally surprised as each turn of events unfolded. The parallel worlds are very well linked and I have every intention of reading the next instalment to discover what happens next in Emily/Annie's world. A truly excellent debut novel that I note is the first of a trilogy that I'm certain will leave readers as enchanted as I was. Could not recommend more highly to readers who enjoy romantic fantasy.
