5.0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
First, just buy this book. I am an avid fan of just about anything metaphysical and I have read oh so many books about different people's spiritual paths and how to develop your own inner strengths, and enjoyed them all for different reasons! But none of them reached out and grabbed me like Colette's book has.

I was so disappointed with this book, and extremely disappointed that it got 5-star reviews. If I had known that this was just a woman's personal story and NOT a guide to recovering intuition, I never would have purchased it.

The author's personal story is 3/4 of the book. THREE QUARTERS. Parts were OK, a little was interesting, but come on, I did not buy...

First, just buy this book. I am an avid fan of just about anything metaphysical and I have read oh so many books about different people's spiritual paths and how to develop your own inner strengths, and enjoyed them all for different reasons! But none of them reached out and grabbed me like Colette's book has.

Her personal story is so profound, you can tell she shares from deep in her heart and it just hits you with its directness. I enjoy reading about people who were "born aware" and saw and experienced wondrous events as children, but cannot always relate directly to them. Colette's story many, many of us will be able to relate to on many levels. I found myself shaking my head and saying, "Me too" over and over! The book is a great read just for her sharing of her own amazing life...but there is so much more.

On to how to increase your own awareness. GREAT exercises and methods for opening up. Colete has a unique, funny style of writing and her personality GLOWS from the pages. I knew she was a gifted intuitive and speakert (oh, yeah, and singer), but now I know she is a gifted writer!

I know there are a lot of metaphysical books out there, but this one is one that you will laugh and cry your way through and refer to over and over and over. Hey, for the price of lunch you can grab this book and expand your capabilities and who the heck knows, maybe even open up YOUR intuition!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Awakening Intuition", July 24, 2007
This review is from: Remembering the Future: The Path to Recovering Intuition (Paperback)
Colette shares her experiences that led to her surrendering to what she already knew to be true. She was blessed with the gift of intuition, and her service was to accept it and share it. The first part of the book is her story. I enjoyed reading her story, it's really interesting. Just because she's intuitive (she prefers not to be labeled psychic because of the stigma that goes along with it.)doesn't mean that she's had things easy. There were plenty of times when her intuition was blocked and she experienced some painful events. She talks about how it left her and when it returned. And, being ituitive never guaranteed that she'd always make the right choices.

The second part of the book is about unblocking (recovering) your intuition. The remaining chapters are on 'The Seven Spiritual Keys' -advice and excercises you can do to put yourself in a better position to access/ recover your intuition. This section of the book is what I'll be re-reading and studying. I found so much good information here, not just about how to be more intuitive, but how to be more spiritual which seems to automatically strengthen your intuition.

Colette says that intuition is "a natural sixth sense that is bestowed on everyone -Without exception." It's just that we're all at very different levels with it. She likens it to her being in the olympic category. (While I think most of all the rest of us are somewhere around the high school gym level.)

I learned a lot from this book, and am looking forward to studying/ excercising the seven spiritual keys.

Colette bears her soul to events in her life that would make most people hide under all the pain and suffering. She has a spiritual awareness which connects her in her book, CD's (Journey of the Chackra's-highly recommended) and in person. You always have choices even on how you view the troubling events in your life as gifts. If she can do it so can you and I. You will end the book with a profound understanding to life's mysteries. Make sure to connect to you intutive self with the final chapters of how to connect yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mystical, Profound and Practical, September 25, 2006
This review is from: Remembering the Future: The Path to Recovering Intuition (Paperback)
Colette's book is a profound autobiography and practical guide that tells the story of how her gift developed and flowered through and as a result of many dark nights. Reading Colette's book, I came away with the view that here is a real person with a real gift- who is humble, smart, funny and sensitive and who has devoted her life to serving others. Colette's practical suggestions really hit home to me-- particularly the section on the "goblin" of the demanding, always worrying ego that gets in the way of opening ourselves to a very deep and existing spiritual reality. I would strongly recommend reading Colette's book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring, humorous, hard to put down..., October 9, 2006
This review is from: Remembering the Future: The Path to Recovering Intuition (Paperback)
I first heard about Colette on the Hay House site and noticed she had an upcoming seminar in my area. I signed up for it despite not knowing much about her. I did a little research on her as the date of the workshop approached and was on the fence about spending $300. to attend. A week before the date, I bought a lottery scratcher and won exactly $300. I took it as a sign that I needed to be there. And the sign was right! She is an amazing woman with amazing gifts. And she has a dry sense of humor and a very down to earth appeal. My experience at the workshop was fabulous and has provided insight into my own path. But alas, this review is about her book which I immediately ordered following the workshop. I was not disappointed. She shares her story in an open and honest fashion. Her writing style is very casual yet invites you to turn every page, even if you can no longer keep your eyes open!
Congratulations, Colette! Keep up the good work and don't let the success keep you separated from the rest of us. We need you!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read!, September 22, 2006

This review is from: Remembering the Future: The Path to Recovering Intuition (Paperback)
I LOVED reading Colette's book! It is down to earth and easy to read, as if she's chatting with the reader. Her humor will make you laugh out loud as she shares stories about her own personal journey, which has definitely had its challenges. In the second part of the book she gives clear steps to awaken your own intuition, not just to get that perfect parking space, but to move past egocentricity for the betterment of humanity. Clear, functional, and profound...

I was so disappointed with this book, and extremely disappointed that it got 5-star reviews. If I had known that this was just a woman's personal story and NOT a guide to recovering intuition, I never would have purchased it.

The author's personal story is 3/4 of the book. THREE QUARTERS. Parts were OK, a little was interesting, but come on, I did not buy this book to read about her troubled and sordid life. I've got my own life for that, lol. I wanted a book that would help me increase my own intuition. When I finally got past her story, all that was left was a list of very basic things we all need to do in life anyway, most of which I had already done. Not one thing in this book was helpful to me at all.

Disappointed, but I'll get over it. There are a few authors out there who actually write about increasing your intuition and psychic abilities. This woman doesn't happen to be one of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars I would give this more stars if I could, June 28, 2007
This review is from: Remembering the Future: The Path to Recovering Intuition (Paperback)
I LOVE THIS BOOK! I am a huge Collete Baron-Reid fan. She has done a beautiful job on this book. Half the book is her life story and the other half is lessons for helping you recover your intuition. She is so down-to-earth and funny that it makes it very easy to learn from her. The next best thing is if you are having trouble with the lessons (because they dig pretty deep) you can join her online communtiy for FREE and she has videos to help you out with your challenging times. Highly recommended if you are trying to develope your intuitive skills with staight forward lessons. Be perpared to get to know yourself the way you never have before. ENJOY!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Book and author - both incredible, May 30, 2007
This review is from: Remembering the Future: The Path to Recovering Intuition (Paperback)
I met Colette during her recent tour with Sylvia Brown. She is a remarkable woman and after she gave a brief recount of her life, I knew I had to have this book. Not only does it share what she went through, but how she discovered the true gift she has and how to bring it to the surface even more. Sharing this with others is what this book is all about! I love it! And pick up her music if you get a chance!!

Colette is an amazing woman who shares her moving, personal experiences in this wonderful book. Her story is one we can all relate to, one of being sensitive in an often chaotic world, and her path back to recovering her true power - that of her connection to living in service and in truth. The contents of this book will help you reclaim your own intuitive gifts which are your birthright. You will be inspired, delighted, and enlightened as you find ways to love yourself and others. This book is surely one of the best of its kind.
