Review
Remembering Grandma Moses is an affectionately detailed portrayal of a remarkable woman (a crusty, feisty, upstate New York farmwife and grandmother) by Beth Moses Hickok who married into the family at 22 and raised two of Grandma's granddaughters. Remembering Grandma Moses is set in 1934 (four years before Grandma Moses was catapulted to national fame) and includes treasured family snapshots, and album of photographs that evoke the landscape of Eagle Bridge, New York where Grandma Moses made her home for most of her century-plus life. Included are portraits of Grandma Moses from 1947 and 1949, nine historical photographs, and nine b/w contemporary photographs. Remembering Grandma Moses is a unique "window in time" through which we can view one of America's most beloved artists. -- Midwest Book Review
