Lionel Hampton has played with some of the great artists of jazz. This is actually a rerelease of material compiled in the 70's. In short Hamptons mastery is phenomenal, it is an important addition to your collection, if you are new to jazz to see the variety and competency or the greats. If you dont have much of Lionel, get it and enjoy it simply for his mastery of the instrument and the fun he had with a wide array of jazz performers.
