5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Tribute!! Sharon Paul - Stow, OH
I purchased this book at Donzella's book signing in July. I read the whole book in a weekend because I could not put it down. This is a lovely tribute to Dr. Prade's life and her accomplishments. The book made me angry all over again, but I cannot even imagine the grief endured by her mother, daughters and friends each and every day. The book was truly amazing and...

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful
This is a very compelling story, but it is so poorly written and disorganized, that one must struggle through. And as much as the author claims the book is about Margo and not her ex-husband, that's not really true. Also,I felt the author offered so little insight into why Margo made some of the choices she did I was left wondering how close were they?I expected more...

The book was truly amazing and very well written. You could certainly feel the author's emotions in her words while reading the book. You need to purchase this book to read the story of 2 truly amazing women (the author and Dr. Prade). I recommend this book 100% to anyone who especially enjoys reading true stories. I want to thank Donzella Michele Malone for giving us the opportunity to know Dr. Prade on a very personal level. God bless her and Dr. Prade's family!! They will all be in my prayers.

I was not fortunate enough to know Margo in life, but Donzella Malone has brought this exceptional woman to life in her heart-felt book. She accomplished her goal of honoring the way Margo lived instead of sensationalizing the way she died. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to look beyond the headlines.

This review is from: Remembering Margo: A Triumphant Life, a Tragic Death, and Life's Greatest Deception (Hardcover)
In 1997, Dr. Margo Shamberger Prade was murdered; shot six times and found in her minivan by one of her employees. Margo was a brilliant and caring doctor with her own practice in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Prade was a fun loving person, a caring mother, and an exceptional doctor who spread joy wherever she was so it was a big mystery regarding the perpetrator of her murder. Her best friend, Donzella was not so mystified. She had been Margo's friend for years and she was even around when, as a teen, she married her husband, Douglas Prade, an older police officer. Donzella could tell that Douglas was controlling and after Margo finally saw the light and divorced him, Donzella warned Margo to watch her back. As a police officer, if Douglas did commit the crime, he not only knew how to do it, but was well equipped to make sure there was no evidence left behind. Would Dr. Prade's killer ever be found? Donzella and many of Margo's friends were determined that whoever the beast was, would be found and punished.

REMEMBERING MARGO is a touching story, filled with letters to Margo after her death and pictures of her as she went about her very busy life. It is well written and the suspense is maintained until the final chapters of the book. I felt as if I knew Margo and I know I certainly would have loved to have a caring, kind, considerate doctor like her in my life. It is a book well worth reading and it points out how our police department just may need to do some deeper psychological examinations of its personnel. As America slides into the Prison Industrial Complex, all areas of the system need checking and this book is certainly a catalyst.

4.0 out of 5 stars Remembering Margo, August 20, 2006

I live in the Akron, Ohio area. Although I did not personally know Dr.Parade, a friend of mine worked for her at the time of her death. I remember the day that the news broke of Dr Parade being found murdered. Such a tragedy that has had a rippling affect for many, many people. Dr.Parade did leave two beautiful daughters that have continued to carry on her legacy. She would be very proud of the young women they have become. This book was written well. You can tell that the author put her heart and soul into it. I borrowed it from my Sister to read but, I am definitely purchasing it for myself.

This is a must read. I laughed and cried reading a story of such a beautiful person who's life was cut short so soon. Thank you to the author for brining the story of the Angel that was taken away but left such an impact on so many. I also have bought several books for friends and family.

5.0 out of 5 stars READERS FEEDBACK, August 11, 2006
This review is from: Remembering Margo: A Triumphant Life, a Tragic Death, and Life's Greatest Deception (Hardcover)
THIS STORY HAS BEEN AIRED OVER THE PAST EIGHT YEARS ON NEWS PROGRAMS SUCH AS: DATELINE MSNBC, A&E, TRUE CRIME AND HBO AUTOPSY SIX, TO NAME A FEW. BECAUSE HER KILLER WAS A HIGH RANKING POLICE CAPTAIN, DR. MARGO PRADE'S MURDER, THE MURDER INVESTIGATION AND TRIAL SPARKED NATIONAL INTRIGUE THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY. AS THE AUTHOR, I WANTED TO PUT THIS ENTIRE STORY INTO PERSPECTIVE; ILLUSTRATING TO THE READER THE LIFE OF A GIFTED PHYSICIAN WHO WAS A COMMUNITY ICON; YET DEVELOP THE PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE OF A SADISTIC KILLER WAITING TO EXPLODE. READERS HAVE SHARED WITH ME THAT I LITERALLY MAKE THEM KNOW DR. MARGO PRADE AS A LIVING PERSON, AND THEY COULD ACTUALLY "FEEL" THE AWFUL LOSS AND TRAGEDY OF HER MURDER. OVER THE SIX AND A HALF YEARS SPENT WRITING THIS BOOK, I LAUGHED OUT LOUD, AND I CRIED OUT LOUD AS I RELIVED THE JOYS AND PAINS OF A TWENTY YEAR HISTORY OF FRIENDSHIP WITH THIS REMARKABLE WOMAN, AND INTERESTING COUPLE. PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME THIS IS A "FANTASTIC STORY", AN "AWESOME READ" AND THEY SIMPLY "COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!" THE FEEDBACK I'VE GOTTEN LETS ME KNOW I ACCOMPLISHED MY GOALS IN SHARING THIS STORY, AND READERS INSIST THIS TRUE STORY IS A "MUST READ!!" I APPRECIATE THE FEEDBACK I'VE GOTTEN, AND I OFFER A SINCERE "THANK YOU" TO THOSE WHO HAVE SHARED WITH ME THEIR EXPERIENCES IN READING "REMEMBERING MARGO."

PEACE & JOY!
DONZELLA

This book was a loving tribute to a friend. It was interesting, as well as informative. It was shameful that tragic events made this necessary. Donzella did a remarkable job.
