I love this CD. Beautiful female lead vocals, backed by powerful and moving music. If I ever meet the person who mixed it, I might just kiss them on the mouth. The quality of sound is over the top.
This is one of my favorite albums, start to finish. There's not one song on here I would not call great. Buy this CD.

Sure, they'll draw comparisons to Garbage, even Paramore...but make no mistake, Great Northern has a depth of music that goes far beyond other comparable bands. This album is probably their best yet. Every song is intense, with some of the main ones being Stories and Houses, but in other songs (33 for example), they flex their musical muscle and show a maturity and emotion far beyond traditional indie rockers. Fantastic album. Definitely worth a buy, and, might I add, much better than so many other overrated indie albums, like Coldplay's most recent.

This music makes me want to fly - it has a wonderful uplifting energy about it. Usually I just buy a few songs from an artist, but I bought the entire album - and I listen to it all the time.
I found this group when I stumbled upon their song Summertime which is a bonus track from their previous album (not available on Amazon apparently, because I looked). That is a terrific song as well. Favorite songs are Mountain, Snakes, and Fingers.

I discovered this band recently. Power lyrics, melancholic melodies, excellent voices...reminds you of Snow Patrol, Pompeii,,

I became aware of this band while watching the crappy movie "The Roommate". The song "Houses" plays as the credits roll. I was intrigued by the sound of the Band and the voice of the lead singer Rachel Stolte. Rachel has a great voice. I could literally listen to her sing the phone book, which is a good thing because the lyrics make about as much sense. This is a band with a great sound and nothing to say. I can only hope that (a) Rachel hooks up with another band or (b) these guys hire a lyricist because I've found deeper meaning on Hanson records.
