i bought this many years ago. its designed for small uses and occasional use. the main issue is the misfiring this thing has. because it has so many springs (2, but your fighting against them), and your holding up the nail, and have to strike something it tends to mash the shell more than anything else. but the main reason i'm writing this is in hope to help someone else who has the same problem i had. the shell went off but lodged inside, and it would not release no matter what i tried. lube, cutting the brass parts out, driving the pin up, down, everything made it worse. you can't take this thing apart, and it will be a feature i will look for if i had to buy this thing again.

this is how i fixed it after hours of frustration and yelling. if you holding the tool, look at the bottom, you'll see an indent, this indent keeps the thing from rotating. drill it out using a #29 drill, you can later tap this with a 8/32" tap. this will let you rotate the barrel, and if your lucky and you can still push the whole thing up into the handle, you will see the piston end in the opening in that slot. from there you should be able to work a tool in there to pop the thing loose and lube it. but it's still near impossible to clean. rotate the thing back, and put in a screw (because you don't want the barrel to rotate when your firing it or you'll probably burn your hand), and your done. now you can fix it in the field if it happens again.

personally i wouldn't buy another one of these. and i can't see to find their company online.

I bought this tool a few years back and I could never get it to fire. When I needed it and it wouldn't fire I went another way with the project. I owned one earlier and it worked great until it disappeared. The new one doesn't appear to have a firing pin. The plate that strikes the cartridges is slightly concave without any protruding parts. I just went online to determine if a safety feature requires me to unscrew the top bolt to access and remove the concave plate so it would work. No such directions. Oops....Remington must have forgotten the firing pin. The Remington quality is suffering.

This is a lousy product. I bought one and used it maybe 7-8 times and it fired maybe every 3rd time and finally something jammed in the barrel and that was the end of it. It's not repairable. Junk!
