The Remington Protect and Shine dryer has a unique pure ceramic heater that helps protect hair while increasing shine. The solid ceramic heater creates a more gentle radiant heat than traditional coil wire heaters. Unlike conventional heat, radiant heat penetrates the hair shaft and heats gently from within exposing the hair to less heat and locking in healthy moisture and shine.
My Remington D-3510 1875-watt dryer finally gave out after 6 great years. So, as a replacement, I bought this one. It claims to be less damaging, advertises 2 heat settings and 2 speed settings, and has the same "cool shot" button as the D-3510. It's all lies. It doesn't have 2 heat settings and 2 speed settings. It has 2 heat/speed settings: low heat/low speed AND high heat/high speed. Unlike my previous model (which had separate speed and heat settings, allowing for more options), this dryer has only two settings, TOTAL, to choose from. Plus, "high" speed is the equivalent to medium on any other hair dryer, and the "high" heat setting is lukewarm at best. The cold shot button needs considerable pressure to activate, making it difficult to use. I'm sure it doesn't cause much damage: how could it? It pushes around room-temperature air at a medium speed when it's at its highest of settings. This product is a complete rip-off. Keep your money and let your hair air dry. That would be just as efficient and, you'd have more money in your pocket.
