Re-designed by hunters for hunters Sun Optics USA has done away with the weaker see-thru design (or as many would call a peep hole) and added .200 thousandths to the thickness of the railcreating a more rigid, recoil absorbing platform. At the same time they have lowered the overall height of the mount creating a lower profile, perfectly contoured mount for your Remington 12 or 20 gauge. I hope this helps you guys out there with a Remington 870 express magnum 20 gauge. I purchased this mount and it works perfect with this weapon. Only one I found that fits. Put a truglo on it. #3 buckshot, 20 pellet knocks them down out to about 35 yards.

I own a remington 870 super mag 12 gauge. I purchased a similar mount that was for a regular 870 express not realizing it wouldn't work properly with my receiver. The difference between the 870 express and the 870 express super mag is that the super mag can shoot 3.5" shells and the express cannot. I returned it and bought this one. It fits perfectly and feels very secure and looks great as well, especially with my red dot on it. I am very happy with this mount and look forward to doing business with SBDGlobal again.
