I have owned a Remington electric razor since the 50s and this one ranks down near the least liked. The biggest downside is the fact that you have to install a new cutter approx. every month, when you can find a source tht has them in stock.

The problem is you can't clean the head. Once it starts to fill up, it gets messy. The shave is not bad, but it fills up so fast its a pain. I found you can take the head apart with a philip driver and clean it. Then the shave isn't bad for about a week of shaving. Kind of funny you can buy the entire razer and 3 heads cheaper than you can buy 2 heads. Just my take on it.

I have a Remington hgx-1. I got it when I was in the hospital for 6 months and I could not shave, becuase I could not get out of bed and wa sunable to hold a razor. I hate al electric shavers I tred over the years. My wife bought me this one. It is ok, but I like a close shave and to get that clean feel it stil doe snot come close to being that razor clean feel one gets with a blade. But, it does help when a bl;ade is not possible..

There maybwe a better eletric razor somehwere, but I have never found it. At least this model did not burn my skin as other have in the past.

The idea of never having to clean your electric razor is a great idea. Just replace the whole shave head blade and all once a month. The shave quality is not what I expected. I can use this razor for 3 days and then I have to follow up with a nice close shave from my Gillette Sensor Turbo. The new heads are hard to find and expensive. I wouldn't buy again. I will use the 3 free extra heads that came with it and then chunck it.

I won't buy from "discount jungle" again.
The shaver will not hold a charge. Also the shaver package was opened when I received it.

it's inexpensive and a great idea. but, it's noisy, and since it's a sealed unit, no cleaning. It does spew some whiskers while u r using it,,, I'm still not really a fan, but, it does do what it is supposed to do.

This is the second one I've purchased to just use for travelling I can't say enough about this shaver. Works great and stays clean other shavers have left a mess on the sink each time I shaved but this one stays very clean and you just replace the head when it's full.

This product is good, but I wouldn't buy Remington again brcause as soon as you decide you like a product, it becomes almost unavailable..I think they move on to another newer thing. The replacement heads will be used until we can find a permanent razor replacement.

It is a piece of crap!!! It gets some of the hair off but I still have to use straight razors to finish the job. I like the side burns trimmer. I wanted to try an electric shaver at least one more time. I have not seen a shaver yet that can out do a straght razor. I did buy a cheapo though. Sometimes, cheap means crap. I will never buy another Remington HGX-1. That's probably why they were so cheap. It seems that when it comes to electric or electronic products, the middle price range is usually the best buy. But a person can buy the most expensive shaver out there and still end up with crap. I would NOT recommend this shaver to anyone unless they plan to use it WITH a staight razor.
