I bought this item to replace the one I'd bought ten or more years ago and had worn out.It is an excellent product. Works well, is reliable, and easy to maintain. All that said I do not understand why Remington has stopped making it. Perhaps it was too good a product. In any case, since the MB-70 was no longer being made I was initially forced to look for some other beard trimmer. I was not able to find anything, at any price, that appeared to be as good as the MB-70. So with some skepticism I bought this refurb. I have been thrilled with the purchase. The refurb looks and acts like a new one. My thanks to the anonymous rebuilder for a job well done. Now my only problem is what to do with the worn out one. I was hoping someone would let me know where to send it so it could be refurbished too.

If you have a full beard and are tired of sweeping up the hair after you use your razor/trimmer, I whole heartedly recommend this unit. It does a very good job of trimming and picks up about 95%+ of the trimmed hairs. Remington also uses a good rechargeable battery, it keeps a charge for quite a while (certainly long enough for a 7-10 business trip). My only two reservations are that you have to use the razor very carefully. The guide is a VERY flexible/flimsy and if you're not careful you can easily put a whole or two in your beard/mustache. Also, parts are impossible to get. If you damage the guide, or ANY part, that's it. I dropped my 1st one after two years. The unit continued to work, but the guide was bent and was very hard to use. I tried multiple places (even Remington) to get a replacement and could not find one. I ended up buying a whole new unit. Other than these two issues, I love the razor. Have been using this particular Remington model for approximately 4-5 years.

I had purchased one of these about 10 years ago when they first came out. And It still works good today just the battery wasn't holding its charge as long and I broke a piece off the guard so when I was looking to see if they had a new model out there I really couldn't fine one with the vacuum so I bought the refurbished and it works great! It's like brand new! I hoping it last me at least another 5-10 years! Great buy and good price!

Although refurbished (Remington doesn't make this model anymore) this is the best trimmer I have ever used...I have had my close cropped beard (#2 of 10 settings)for 30+ years and, due to a great vacuum system that you clean (dump out from the bottom) once a week, there's is no mess at all...I think I paid $19.00 (thatincludes a couple small combs etc.).I had my 1st one for about 8-9 years and the battery would no longer take a charge...don't bother replacing it...and it's not meant to be replaced...but, Hey, 2 trimmers over 17-18 years...don't know where you find that kind of longevity for anything anymore...My advice...You'll love it and so will the person whose turn it is to clean the bathroom!

So far this product has served it's purpose, and I have zero complaints. For what it's worth you won't be upset with your purchase.

Research, order, receipt,
I had had this same MB 70 beard and mustache trimmer for several years and when I went to search Amazon for one similar to it, I found that I could purchase the same model, only reconditioned. I ordered it and received it well within the specified time and am very pleased, not only with the product, but the service from amazon.

I purchased this trimmer to replace an MB-30 that the batteries went bad on. The batteries cost almost as much as a new timmer so I thought this was the ticket. We'll it seems the vacuum sucks up alot of the motor's power and the cutting action on this trimmer is pathetic. It really bogs done when it hits some whiskers and that winds up pulling your beard and it's not too comfortable. The MB-30 worked alot better. I may try and take the batteries from this new one and put them in the old one.

In 2011, who makes a rechargeable shaver with a Ni-Cad battery? It's ridiculous. Long charge time, relatively short run-time, and lack of the option to use corded, mean this shaver can (and in my case did) let you down when you really need it. I use this to shave my face and head, a bit of stubble is my norm. Traveled to my wedding in another state, the shaver switched on and discharged in my luggage. Left it to charge for a couple of hours, it ran for about two minutes. Had to go to CVS and buy a corded Conair model in order not to show up to my rehearsal dinner with a hatchet half-shave job. Stress I did not need. I'm buying a new Norelco Turbo-Vac instead. My old one is vastly superior to this Remington junk. Cheap junk.

The Remington beard and mustache trimmer works OK. However, it was advertised as new but when I received it it was described as refurbished. This leads me to fear that its life my not as long as a new product.
