I was burned many years ago and that experience left me very difficult to shave, even with no obvious heavy scarring. The skin on my face is extremely sensitive and to compound matters my beard is course and grows extremely fast. Other electrics gave spotty results at best and frequently required a secondary shave with a standard bladed razor.
Either or both of these methods usually left me looking like the victim of an industrial WeedEater accident with many deep and noticable red blotches far worse than most cases of Rosacia. Highly embarrassing.
Enter the MS500. Sick, tired and thoroughly FED UP, I bought and went through a number of different brands and models in rapid succession. This one is the BIG WINNER!!! The difference was like day and night. As the title says, I'm looking for a backup right this very moment.
Yes, it is very noisy - but I bought it FOR THE GREAT *SHAVE* not the sound. Sorry, I'm RESULT ORIENTED and I'm not one of those folks who knit picks every feature or lack thereof. I didn't buy the MS500 because it's beautiful and high tech looking with the lighted "charge time remaining readout". I didn't buy it for the technogeek cleaning base that turns the razor on and off during ultrasonic cleaning and then recharges the battery automatically. Nope. Those features are just means to an end. I use it because it WORKS and it WORKS WELL!
It's robust and feels solid. The design is comfortable and ergonomic. I've used mine for over six months and haven't had a single glitch nor problem. The two extra built in pop up trimmers - one mini head precision foil for the upper lip and/or above the mustache plus a wide flat ctrimmer for straight edging mustache and sideburns - work wonderfully. I've had no problems whatsover. I do use a can of compressed air to pre-clean the heads and screen. Not one nick or pinch ever.
There you have it sports fans. If you're hard to shave or simply want a SUPER SHAVE, then THIS IS IT.
