Product Description

Amazon.com

Remington produced the world’s first electric shaver in 1937, and continues to be a leader in shaving technology. The MicroScreen 2 promises a superior shave even on tough spots like the neck with its Total Closeness Technology: two independently flexing screens that hug face and neck contours, counter-directional cutters underneath that reduce vibration, and a full-length, three-position Intercept Trimmer that pops up to work in tandem with the screens, or alone to quickly trim a beard or mustache. With its deluxe no-slip insets and thumb-operated controls, the ergonomic handle feels comfortable and substantial. Cleaning the razor after each shave is simple. Just squeeze the two release buttons, pull off the head, and blow or brush out any stubble. A cleaning brush is included, along with a zippered, padded carry pouch, and a removable cord that stretches to about five feet. The high-performance 8,500-rpm motor automatically converts to other voltages worldwide. Remington covers the shaver with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and a two-year warranty against defects.--Ann Bieri

A few issues November 9, 2003
Great razor, and great price considering the market.
Please consider the following things
1) The razor will not run on the power cord. It is only useful for charging the battery. The razor will only run on the battery. The next higher level will run on the cord (MS 300?).
2) The replacement screens are expensive. This is not unusual for a replacement screen/blade, but please consider this cost before buying an electric,
3) It is pretty cheap for the performance. I've had it for a year or so and don't have any trouble with it.
4) Battery life is fantastic. It lasts weeks before needing a recharge.
5) I don't have a very heavy beard. It may not work for those who do. I like this style of razor because it is small enough to manuver around your entire face.
Thanks for reading

I have purchased three of these razors for my two grandsons & a friend & they all like them very much. Good buy for a good razor! I found the same model at a web site for $ 90.00!

A Fine Cordless Shaver... August 18, 2008
After having my corded razor die a slow death, my wife went out 3 Christmases ago and got me one of these shavers.
And it is one of the BETTER razors out there for the price. If you can find it cheaper, though...by all means get one!
Let's face it, if you don't have a million-dollar face, why blow several hundred for a shaver that will do the job AS WELL for a lot less?
The Remington MS2-200 does a very good job, and although when fully charged, sounds like a steroid-laden hornet in heat, still comes through with flying colors. It has one of the ebst trimmer units around.
My only "complaint" is that the head foils wear out sooner than my old Braun foils did. While directed to replace the foils every SIX MONTHS, I think that's asking a bit much. And at $14+ a shot every time I replace them, it adds up.
After a few years, this razor will cost more than a hundred bucks!
Thankfully, the cutting heads (when kept clean) last for more than a year (recommended changeout).
You can get about 10 GOOD shaves per charge (over the 3 minute limit), and although you get a full charge after several hours, you can get one "fast" charge in less than an hour, so that's not bad at all in a pinch.
If you don't use the shaver EVERY DAY, then you can eek out a few more months on the foil heads (10-12 months).
I would shop around online for better prices for the foils. Some places sell both the heads AND the cutters, when all you need are the HEADS.
DO your homework, and save a few bucks.
Overall, it's not a bad unit, but I am dreading the day when the rechargebale battery needs replacing, and how difficult THAT will be.
Time will tell.

Granted I don't use it all the time....I just have to say that I've had my MS2-200 since around 1995 or so. Its served me well. I never had much luck with rotary style shavers. Read more

Mediocre Razor
Used this razor for a few years. I was never a big fan of the microscreen razors--the screens are rather fragile (I have had to replace several over the years). Read more

Solid performance nearly ruined by poor design choices
Preface:
This was my first foil shaver, all my previous electric razors had been rotaries. I will never go back to rotary after this, they always pulled painfully at my hairs... Read more

Great performance and durability! 5 years +
I have had this razor for over five years and it still works great! The only negative is that it operates only from DC power not AC.

works well
I bought the same razor 5 or 6 years ago and the battery finally ran out. I had a gift card so I splurged and bought a $75.00 Braun electric razor. What a mistake. Read more

Lackluster
This product has two huge issues in my opinion...

1) The shave: It doesn't nearly get close enough and you never have an actual clean shaven look. Read more
