I bought two of these. One is in my weather sealed gun safe, and one is in my closet next to my shower, keeping my shotgun dry. Before I had these, I would get light amounts of rust on my shotgun where scuffs and scratches existed on the gun. Even if I oiled them, eventually it would start rusting again. Now with the dehumidifier, there is no rust at all. Every couple months I have to plug in the device, but that is a very small price to pay.
I had a similar story in my safe, some of my rifles and handguns would get rust in places, and since I put in the dehumidifier, there is none. With the small area that is being dehumidified in the safe, and because of the weather seal, I only have to plug in the dehumidifier ever six months or so!

I hoped this product would lower the humidity in my gun safe but was disappointed. My room dehumidifier had died and hope this mini dehumidifier would protect my guns. I placed it in my gun safe along with a humidity meter. Left it in there a couple of days and checked it. The meter on the outside of my safe read 67%, then read the meter in the safe 63%. Wow dropped 4%, closed the safe and let it go for a week and the meter read 65%. Even thought the window was purple indicating the humidifier was charged I plugged it in to recharge and once again would only drop humidity 2-4%. What a waste of money. If you bought this product get a humidity meter and check the humidity inside and outside your gun safe. My safe is an average sized safe.
I have used this for several years now in my gun safe, and it works great ! Easy to use at an affordable price, I recomend it to anyone who owns a gunsafe
