PRACTICAL PRODUCT BECAUSE IT DOESN'T HAVE A RECHARGABLE BATTERY TO WEAR OUT, WHICH IS WHAT USUALLY HAPPENS. THIS IS MY 2ND NON-RECHARGABLE RAZOR---SAME MAKE AND MODEL.
ALSO,I BOUGHT A SPARE SET OF HEADS FOR THIS ONE AND A REPLACEMENT SET FOR MY FIRST ONE, WHICH IS STILL IN SERVICE AFTER 9 YEARS (WITH REPLACED HEADS).
THE IDEA IS THAT THIS SHOULD LAST ME THE REST OF MY LIFE--AND---THESE REZORS ARE SO DURABLE THAT THEY'RE A THREAT, IN MY MIND, AND REMINGTON MIGHT QUIT MAKING THEM = "DESIGNED OBSOLESENCE" = PRODUCT IS TOO GOOD?

I previously owned Norelco shavers and several were cordless. They work well for a time, but then the batteries start to go and they don't hold their charge very long. My last one suddenly developed a problem in the switch and gave out on me while in Costa Rica. So after searching Amazon for a replacement I found this Remington and the reviews were good. It is inexpensive, has a powerful motor and shaves very well (which is why we buy a razor). It is corded, but that is why it runs so well. The motor is zippy and the trimmer works well. It is light weight and has a nice feel in my hand. It is well worth the money and I prefer it over a cordless shaver.

Cuts 4 days of growth without pulling. Doesn't get so close that skin is irritated.

My husband's huge complaint is it needs a stronger motor. It sounds and feels draggy.

Although, the product description warned me about this, it seems to have burned me more than the much more expensive Norelco's I've had before. Still, if I'm careful, I'm no longer getter razor burns. I was used to shaving the back of my neck with the old ones... don't try that with this. I had some bad razor burn after trying that. Maybe, you get what you pay for? All in all, it doing it's job and not causing injury if I take my time and shave carefully.

Good shaver, but not a great one. Not as close as I would like. Seems to hold in there very well though, and I have no complaints about that.

I have used electric shavers all my life, which is many decades. This Remington
R-835 MicroFlex 3X corded rotary shaver is just wonderful! Even if I have a 5-day
growth or so, it whisks it away faster than any shaver I've ever had. That is because it has a high RPM motor (a must) and because it's a rotary. All I've ever
used before was foil shavers (Remington, Braun, Wahl, etc.). I insist on corded shavers because I hate rechargeable ones. Who is going to shave in the car? Every time I shave I am in the bathroom and corded is the only way to go! And corded models are becoming harder to find. I once had a Wahl that lasted an astonishing 8 years, but it's no longer made, naturally. A rotary is better at longer whiskers (several days growth) than a foil, and faster at it, but a foil shaver gives a
slightly closer shave, but it takes longer. This shaver also comes with a 2-year warranty! Even with up to 5 days growth, I scarcely have to go over an area more than once. It just whisks away the whiskers in no time flat, even the neck! I just love it! It claims to have more blades than any other rotary, so it's probably better than any Norelco, a brand I've never tried, and a brand which might be under-powered, anyway. You must have high RPM's to be effective.

What I like most about this shaver is how it plows through a three day beard in seconds. It is a little rough on the neck until you learn how to do it lightly. I would buy another one if I needed it.
