Product Description

Slice and shear through tough hedges
Titanium coated blades maximize durability and cutting performance
Remington RM5124TH Hedge Wizard Pro 24-Inch Dual Action 5 Amp Electric Hedge Trimmer with Titanium Blades

Make short work of hedges and shrubs with the Remington RM5124TH Hedge Wizard Pro. It features a powerful 5 amp motor and 24-inch cutting blade to slice and shear through tough hedges. The titanium-coated dual action blades stay sharper longer and offer both smoother cutting and reduced vibration. Its swivel blade is ideal for shaping the tops of taller hedges or grooming the areas at the base of hedges. The ergonomic design features a cushioned grip for less hand and arm fatigue, as well as a full wrap handle for added protection. Unlike gas-powered tools, the Hedge Wizard Pro requires no gasoline or oil to mix--and it's also easier to start.

Sever any branch without remorse

The Remington RM5124TH Hedge Wizard Pro cuts though the toughest branches with less effort and more comfort. Its lightweight design and ergonomic cushioned grip make it comfortable to use, while the 24-inch dual action cutting blades shred through bushes and hedges. And the titanium blade coating keeps them sharp longer. The Hedge Wizard Pro's 3/4-inch cutting capacity is one of the largest you'll find in a hedge trimmer. The swivel blade lets you choose the angle of the blades to ensure precise, cleaner cuts. That means you can carve and shape even the most stubborn bushes.

24-inch dual action cutting blades with versatile swivel action

These long titanium-coated blades move in two directions, creating a cleaner cut through branches up to 3/4-inch thick. This versatile trimmer has a 24-inch cutting blade that rotates 180-degrees, so you can cut at the right angle for precise, clean cuts without having to hold the trimmer sideways.

Lightweight design

This trimmer is designed to be comfortable to use with less arm fatigue.

I have just put a new RM5124TH through a real workout, about 3 hours attached to a UTV moving from .9 to 1.8 mph. Very pleased so far cutting through hay, weeds and soft bush.
Things to note. All ads say 3/4 cutting. The tooth spacing is 3/4 inch. No spec is given on outside of box. The tag on unit claims 5/8 inch. The manual claims 1/2 inch. Face it, it depends on what you are cutting. I did hit some pithy 3/4 inch stuff and it chewed through it. 1/2 and below it just cut it.
And just so you know, I took it apart and it has metal gears.
I have ordered 2 more to make a 6ft wide cutter. With luck I will provide a follow up report.

I bought this specifically due to the advertised 3/4" capacity, but that must come from a creative advertising agency's being, shall we say, economical with the truth. I suppose a branch with an oval cross section might apply to both descriptions, but then a really ovoid one might support a claim for 1" capacity .....

So far the 5A motor seems stronger than the lower powered ones in my other two 24" blade trimmers.

I wanted a decent quality 24" hedge trimmer. Reciprocating blades make it easy to handle and it cut very well for a while. However, cutting a 3/4" branch from a shrub only works on Jello or Warm Butter Bushes. If you do snag a thick one on a real shrub like a Holly, the presumably plastic gears (haven't taken it apart yet) will strip and that's the end of its usefulness. Remington is no threat to Black & Decker on minimizing durability. Light duty only. Best for desert homeowners.

I agonized over this purchase for awhile trying to decide whether to get one of these home use or a commercial grade model, but really didn't have the cash. My hedge was overgrown about a foot. I knew I definitely needed a 3/4" cutting capacity which this one does have. There were really only a couple others in this price range that met those specs. At 5 amps it was also the most powerful in this price range so I went for it. I was hoping to this would slice though my hedge it like butter. No such luck. It took a lot of work, and it did not handle the big branches as well or as cleanly as I had expected... But it did eventually get the job done. My old 18" Black and Decker couldn't even get started, so yeah, it's okay, but not great. Plastic is pretty cheap looking and was $20 to $30 dollars more the other two I looked at. If I a do over, I'd get the Earthwise HT10024 24-Inch 3.8 Amp Electric Hedge Trimmer for $49 instead.

FYI: Wear eye protection ! The motor has a powerful & effective cooling fan which directs air flow "straight" back at you. I was struck with a high speed debris (most likely a wood chip) that was propelled thru the fan blade which hit me straight on the lower right eye lid. Had it hit me half inch higher I would have eye injuries. So wear eye protection at ALL times while operating this trimmer.

The blades move slower than I expected; the 18 volt rechargeable Craftsman it replaced had higher blade speed but much lesser torque. Although it cuts well & has plenty of torque, I wish the blades would reciprocate at higher speed so it produces cleaner cuts.

Overall, it is well constructed & has plenty of torque but lacking on blade speed which does not produce the clean cuts I'd expected.

I just used this thing last weekend and let me tell you it is great. I have 62 English boxwoods some of them in a very long and tall hedge. I was able to do them all in one day . Never have done that before. It worked great making my boxwoods round or making them square for my hedge. I am so glad I bought it . Also i timmed my other bushs .It was perfect for them too.

this is an animal...cuts through bouganvillaea vines like a hot knife through butter; just trimmed a months worth of growth today on 4 huge wall vines; last month I did it by hand and it took 2 days; today it took 2 hours; I was concerned about its power..not a problem..its an animal; I was concerned about dealing with a chord but with the wrap around cord on the handle it stays plugged; I made sure I hand plenty of cord (great deal at $10 per 50 feet on amazon) and I got 150 feet.
after the vines I went to town on the rest of the front yard shrubs...fired my gardener 2 months ago; bought a fiskar hand reel mower (runs very smooth; effortless) and with this hedge pro I get a good aerobic work out and and save money on the gardner AND get the shrubs trimmed properly

I bought this trimmer to replace the old 2.5 amp job I have used for the past 5 years. The old trimmer would cut my hedges ok, but it would be an all day affair. it was a lightweight trimmer and would fight even the smallest twigs. This new one cuts the largest twigs with ease (up to 3/4") and really sped up my trimming jobs. The only problem that I found was that it is pretty heavy and wore my arm muscles out after about an hours worth of use. If you take frequent breaks, this shouldn't be a problem. Also the safety interlock system is a bit of a pain to use, but not that irritating.
