speaking from years of experience with many oils this one is good for the money but nothing special.
to further explain it is a thin low viscous oil, good for base lube on a gun or knife sharpening.
it is not as good as a thicker oil for rust prevention or heavy lube.
this stuff also smells awful no idea how toxic it is but it smells like a weak solvent, however does not work for cleaning very well.
bottom line wd40 does the same thing better for less, and is easier to get.
for a real gun enthusiast you need a 3 in 1 clean, lube, protect break free is what pros use, kleen bore 3 in 1 is also good.
some of my teachers recommend Smith&Wesson oil it is also very good.
simply put water is not the only thing that will mar your gun, you gotta watch for sand, dirt and other stuff.
