I purchased this CD and it has become one of my most played. This is an awesome collection of tasteful acoustic picking and and some absolutely brilliant slide as done on a National steel. I highly reccomend this CD and am looking forward to another one by the talented Mr Jacobs.

Raw and powerful! Acoustic blues at its best!,

If you get a chance to see Bryan perform, DO SO! He doesn't just play the music, he tells you about it and draws you in. He's been doing the VH1 Storytellers type thing long before they thought of it. I've had my copy of this CD for some time and while it isn't the experience of a live performance, it is the next best thing! As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the original instrumental Grace is my favorite. It's great to see it in wider distribution with Amazon. Buy the CD and I guarantee you'll HAVE to go see him at the next opportunity!

When I first purchased this recording I was a little apprehensive. Most self-produced solo works have left me wondering why I bothered to begin with. Not so with this one. From the opening notes of Statesboro Blues to the coda of Jesus On The Mainline, Byran's guitarwork and expressive voice pulls you right along on a trip through a history lesson of the blues. They act like a magnetic guide into a different era. The instrumentals are deceptively simple yet sublime as they work inside you to show you the world Bryan's created with his music. Great album for all who love simple, honest music from the heart. Buy it, you won't go wrong.
