I thought Fourplay was untouchable in the smooth jazz arena, but Denate' has taken their rightful place amongst the great's of the genre, and this is only their first album!!!

The formula: Hot grooves and sexy vocals. The players: Singer/songwriter Deborah Connors and keyboardist/composer/producer Nate Harasim. The material: Eight stunning original collaborations and two freshly re-minted covers (Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams" and Quincy Jones' "Secret Garden"). The execution: Brilliant playing and singing, enhanced by a serendipitous melding of mastermind, talent and passion. The result is REMINISCE, the sparkling debut CD from Deborah and Nate's alter ego, De' Nate' (an accented combination of their names). The duo actually got their first airing on "Feel the Love," the current single from Nate's hit project LOVE'S TAKEN OVER. The positive response to that tune led NuGroove President David Chackler to astutely suggest that Harasim and Connors team up and record a new album together... thus REMINISCE. This is an urbane collection of performances that is at once groove-laden and lyrical. I love it! The combination of Nate's inspired keyboard work and Deborah's sensual vocals is a total winner. Add in the World-class support work from the likes of saxman Darren Rahn, guitarist Michael Powell and bassist Mel Brown, and you've got yourself the makings of a smash hit album. It's a fresh, invigorating potpourri of Smooth Jazz, R&B, soul and pop. Highly recommended! ~ SCOTT O'BRIEN
