5.0 out of 5 stars Grand!, November 13, 2004

While searching for extended versions from ABC on CD since the early nineties, I came upon this one via a big CD-fair in our beautiful little country. I was astonished. Everything I hoped was on it! Even Alphabet Soup and the Bond Street Mix of Millionaire. This was very cheap for me at the time (only 40 % the price of a normal CD) and I was very glad and happy about this. The absolute gem on this is Poison Arrow's US/Jazz Remix.
78 minutes of remixes, nowhere elso to be found, enjoy...
Essential for die-hard ABC collectors. Period.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's in the Mix!, August 17, 2005
This review is from: The Remix Collection (Audio CD)
"The Remix Collection" pulls together extended versions and remixes from ABCs first five releases ("Lexicon of Love," "Beauty Stab," "How to be a Zillionaire," "Alphabet City," and "Up") that roughly approximates their greatest hits. The tracks skew heavily towards "Lexicon..." (three tracks), "...Zillionaire" (three tracks) and "Alphabet City" (two tracks) but also includes the non-album track "Alphabet Soup." The disc includes the beats per minute (BPM) for each track and the mixes are a must have for any fan of ABC or 80s dance music. These were the mixes you heard at the clubs and if you were a club kid like me you HAVE to have them. The Frankie Knuckles Mix of "The Real Thing" far surpasses the version on "Up" as does the Garage Mix of "One Better World." The Munich Mix of "Be Near Me" and the Bond Street Mix of "How to Be a Zillionaire" were both included on the CD release of "...Zillionaire" but it's nice to have them included here. The liner notes include a nice synopsis of ABC's career up until the time of this release (1993). It's worth tracking down if you can find it!

5.0 out of 5 stars ABC Delicious, June 17, 2007

Rare as it is, I'm sure this will be reintroduced for cheap sooner or later. Martin Fry's recent Sonic Hub release made me get this. Thankfully as a twelve inch mix collection, they included the single "That was then, this is now" in all its pop glory. Dinero well spent for the eighties afficionado.
