5.0 out of 5 stars Antichrist Superstar Gets FUNKY
This album is bassically a Remix EP of Antichrist Superstar songs. Heres what I think about it (If you Care)

The Horrible People - A cool remix of The Beautiful People that sounds like the kind of song that if you play it backwards, you'll hear a Satanic Message! 5/5

The Tourniquet [Prosthetic Dance Mix] - Funky. I love this song anyway. But the remix is still cool...

3.0 out of 5 stars Review and Repent.
An EP released to fulfill fan demands for live material. The CD not only features live blistering renditions tracks from the mammoth known as Antichrist Superstar, it also includes remix tracks, notebly a favourite activity among the Manson crew.

Dried up, Tied and Dead to the World [Live in Utica, NY] - Pretty neat. M.W. Gacy did a good job with the electronics in this song. especially live. Like Cryptorchild, this has a lot of techno. 5/5

Antichrist Superstar [Live in Hartford, CT] - I've always prefered this song live as oppose to the studio version. I LUV'D IT! 5/5

Man That You Fear [Acoustic Requiem for Antichrist Superstar] - I love this song accoustic. It makes it feel all the more emotional. 5/5

"Prick your finger it is done, the moon has now eclipsed the sun. The angel has spread it's wings. The time has come for bitter things" - Antichrist Superstar.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for all Manson fans, August 12, 2000
This review is from: Remix & Repent (Audio CD)
This, along with Antichrist Superstar, should be in every Manson fan's library. It contains two excellent remixes, one of "The Beautiful People", one of "Tourniquet". These are two of the best remixes I've ever heard. They are both brilliant deviations of the original versions.

There are also live performances of "Dried Up, Tied And Dead To The World" and "Antichrist Superstar". In my opinion, "Antichrist Superstar" sounds better live than recorded in the studio. Both are excellent performances. An acoustic version of "Man That You Fear" closes this single.

Absolutely no Marilyn Manson fan should be without Remix And Repent. And for the money it costs, it's more than worth purchasing. This and Antichrist Superstar together make for an amazing listening experience that will last a very long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smells like Children Part 2, August 23, 2004
By
Gunther Haagendazs (Up High in the Trees) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Remix & Repent (Audio CD)
Remix and Repent is a little bridge between Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals. Like how Smells Like Children is a bridge between Portrait and Antichrist Superstar. The only difference is that Repent has fewer songs and no annoying skits. Children had 7 where as here we have 5. But this is still a pretty cool thing to own if you're a big Manson fan. None of the 5 songs are bad at all. On Smells like Children there seemed to be at least one track that someone didn't like. (it varied from person to person)
Here we have 2 really cool remixes and 2 live songs (a first time Manson released any live songs) and an Acoustic version of Man that you Fear.

1. The Horrible People: 9/10 weird remix of the Beautiful People.

2. Tourniquet (Prosthetic Dance Mix): 7/10 I didn't like the original very much but its pretty cool/different.

3. Dried up, Tied, and Dead to the World (Live): 8/10 crystal clear sound with a great audience.

4. Antichrist Superstar (Live): 10/10 Ditto. Nuff Said.

5. Man That You Fear (Acoustic) 9/10 No drums, different intro, very interesting. About the same as original.

All in all it's a great companion to Antichrist or The Last Tour on Earth (cause of the Live Songs). Not necessarily essential, it's for the Fans who will enjoy every minute of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing remixes and live music, November 17, 1999
This review is from: Remix & Repent (Audio CD)
Every song on this CD is a gem. The live version of Anti-Christ Superstar has more power than the origional, and The Man That You Fear (acoustic) is hands-down better and more moving than the original. If you haven't heard ACSS, get this CD as a sort of preview of what's to come. If you have heard ACSS, this will make a fantastic suppliment. The only thing is, before you hear The Horrible People, you really ought to hear The Beautiful People.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Angel with the Scabbed Wings, January 11, 2004
This review is from: Remix & Repent (Audio CD)
A great companion piece to "Antichrist Superstar", this EP features five great remixes that are more than worth hearing for Manson devotees. "The Horrible People" remix of "The Beautiful People" is a nice opener, while the remix of "Tourniquet" and the live versions of "Dried Up, Tied Up, and Dead to the World" and "Antichrist Superstar" are solid as well, but the chilling acoustic version of "Man That You Fear" is worth the price of admission alone. All in all, this is an essential buy for hardcore Manson fans and for those looking for a companion piece to "Antichrist Superstar".

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cd, July 15, 2002

Remix and Repent is a great addition to any Manson fan's collection. The live tracks are so well cleaned that they bearly sound live, and the remixes are GREAT. The horrible people is probably one of the best remixes ever! The torniquet remix is also great. The acoustic requiem is a great closer to a great EP. Well worht the money, this should be bought if you have Anti-Christ Superstar, or buy them together. It's worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Huzzah!, March 9, 1999
This review is from: Remix & Repent (Audio CD)
Remix and Repent is some of Manson's best. All of the remixes are very good, very cool, and manson is very good live (unlike White zombie... I saw them once and Rob couldn't reproduce I Zombie for crap, and Sean was stoned out of her mind or something). Well worth the money. If you liked Antichrist, this is a must. If you liked Mechanical Animals or even old Manson (lunchbox) this is loud enough for you while still being oddly, hauntingly melodic in places. Twiggy shreds beautifully, and Manson sings to match his rending chords. This is some good sh*t. Antichrist Superstar was MADE to be performed live!
