Funker Vogt's 3 tracks have tighter drum patterns and more aggressive vocals, which are two key elements for good post-industrial slam tech. Velvet Acid Christ has a weaker offering with a driving and hypotonic track that features a samples from a Star Trek in which Picard fights the Borg. I bought the CD because I thought Funker Vogt had remixed VAC's tracks and visa averse. I was wrong. Each band started from their own collection of sounds, loops and samples. If you like a heavy German bounce you will like Funker Vogts opening track.

The previous releases of the Rmx-Wars series were quite disapointing, but this one is a real killer! At least 4 of the 6 tracks are even better than the original versions. While VAC brings some sinister coolness into Funker Vogt's heavy EBM, the germans simply add a barbarian bassline to the VAC tracks... and it works! If you're not convinced yet, let me tell you that the samples taken from the german(!) version of Full Metal Jacket make this CD definitly worth purchasing...;)

Remix Wars Volume 4 will be best appreciated by those who are devoted Funker Vogt and Velvet Acid Christ fans. Without hearing the original songs first, one may think of this as just another mediocre industrial grind-fest. So by itself, it probably won't impress too many people...but I definetly recommend it to long-time fans of Funker Vogt and Velvet Acid Christ. My only gripe is that I think maybe they should have put a few more songs on here to make it a full album.

this cd is defintely for those who love remixes. i love the Remix Wars series. you get to be introduced to great new acts for a cool low price. i highly recommend this cd to those who like the harder, dark facet of electronic beat music.
