4.0 out of 5 stars Should You Avoid This CD? Absolutely Not!, July 27, 2003
First, a consumer warning: "Remixed," the debut remix album from diva Deborah Cox, is a megamix of 14 EDITED tracks. This means that this CD does NOT have the full-length versions. For a lot of people, this is a big deal, so consider yourself forewarned before you decide to pick this up. With that out of the way, "Remixed" is the album we more or less predicted from Deborah, whose material is more familiar as remixes on the dance floor than on the radio. It compiles dance re-workings of various singles from her last three studio albums, and they're mixed into each other on this 70 minute disc. Fans of her 12 inch singles will have no reason to be disappointed, for all of her major hits are included. Predictably, DJ Hex Hector nearly dominates the set with his re-workings of the bouncy "Absolutely Not," the breakup stomper "It's Over Now," and his transformation of the ballad "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here." But veteran David Morales also holds his own, as featured on the energetic "Could Have Been You" and "Who Do You Love." There's not one turkey on this set, not even Cox's cover of "Something Happened on the Way to Heaven," which was originally sung by, ahem, Phil Collins. So dance lovers and fans of Deborah will be equally pleased with this disc. It may not have the full-length versions, but it's a well-mixed CD that does a good job in compiling Deborah's dance hits.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good CD, but should have been 2 CDs, April 15, 2005
By Daniel W. Kelly (Long Island, NY United States) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
A majority of Ms. Cox's awesome remixes are here, beat mixed, but edited, naturally. I would have gladly have paid more money for the full length versions of these songs on a 2 disc set. That said, many of the hard to find mixes are here, so if you haven't been able to get your hands on promo only 12 inch singles, you can get a good part of each song here. There are also previously unreleased songs. This is the breakdown.

1. intro
2. something happened on the way to heaven (valentin club mix) (4:57)
3. play your part (mike rizzo leading role club mix) (5:16)
4. mr. lonely (HQ2 main club mix-widelife mix) (5:12)
5. absolutely not (hex hector channel club mix) (5:22)
6. i never knew (hani mix) (5:27)
7. it's over now (hex's retro future mix) (4:37)
8. nobody's supposed to be here (hex hector club mix) (5:23)
9. things just ain't the same (hex hector club mix) (4:57)
10. who do u love (david morales mix) (5:52)
11. it could've been you (david morales mix 1) (4:20)
12. starting with you (danny sullivan & kemist mix) (5:15)
13. who do u love (junior vasquez mix) (5:24)
14. it's over now (hex's club mix) (5:59)

Even better would have been a collection of full-length, non-beat mixed remixes that were never commercially available on domestic or import CD, which would have included: something happened on the way to heaven (valentin mix and any other mixes that may be available), play your part (all remixes, there are many excellent ones out there), i never knew (hani mix), who do u love (the vinyl morales mix and the junior mix), and starting with you (any remixes available).

But of course, record companies never think with a diehard music collector's logic when they release these compilations, as we all know.

5.0 out of 5 stars HINRG DEBORAH!!, October 16, 2004
By M. DUlisse (las vegas, nevada) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This has got to be the best hinrg album by a well established artist I have ever heard. Usually an artist will release a generic mixed album, NOT HERE!! You get all her classic mixes.
The CD starts off with a 1:22 intro of all her mixes. It then mixes into her new song "SOMETHING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO HEAVEN" and is continuously hinrg until the last second. BUY!!! BUY!!! BUY!!!. I also recommend "ULTIMATE DEBORAH" which has her classic r@b hits and dance mixes which includes the slow to fast version of "NOBODY'S SUPPOSE TO BE HERE".
