5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT CD
I picked up this CD a couple of days ago/ put it in and LOVED IT! From Back In Black To For Those About to Rock, every version was great. It is much better than COVERED IN BLACK or THUNDERBOLT. Recommended to any hard rock fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars unbiased, December 17, 2003

This review is from: Remixed to Hell: Tribute to Ac/Dc (Audio CD)
what we have to understand is that ac/dc have influenced alot of musicians that have chosen not to rip them off. I am a huge fan of the former and realize that to pay tribute, one must show what one has learned, not just imitate. I find the originals as very dancable...that is, it moves me into moving. These covers and remixes combined are very intense and energetic...the same qualities I found a long time ago with the originals. I also, have found new music in every nook and while the thought of keys or dance beats was appalling to me at my initial ac/dc love, i do see that is part of why i fell for them. there is an exagerated boogie here, an extended saturation of things that make you move. there is also a counterpoint to that by way of the immortal godflesh doing 'for those about to rock', twisting farther just what ac/dc encouraged. This is not a c.d. of covers,
this is about what one band made millions of souls feel
and being a musician myself, loving ac/dc to my bones, I too would feel I had to feel free in covering their music...what else did i get from them but the feeling of freedom?

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved it! Different type of tribute album, February 2, 2003

This is a cool tribute album - my beef with most tribute albums is that the covers are TOO close to the originals. If I wanted to hear note for note renditions, I'd listen to the original recordings.

I am far from a fan of techno (I cannot stand it!) or whatever one wants to call these remixes, but the covers are done by great rock luminaries (Scott Ian, Zakk Wylde, etc) then remixed kind of techno. I think it sounds cool - I'm really tired of the old AC/DC versions of these songs (they're great, just overplayed), but these versions are fresh versions of the songs. Bonus points are awarded for anyone who can make a Stephen Pearcy vocal listenable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Interesting... but I hated it anyway., December 23, 2001

I'll start off by saying this: If you are a big fan of AC/DC, do not buy this CD. Go buy "Thunderbolt" instead. At least "Thunderbolt" carries any reminisce of hope "Remixed" had.
"Remixed to Hell" proves that you can make a really good song sound like a traffic accident if you try hard enough. I haven't been so disgusted since that day I spent at the Vomitorium. Ah, memories.
There is such a thing as overkill, folks. The great thing about AC/DC is that they write songs that are more in tune with the average person on the street. I don't want to step on anybody's toes but in my opinion, no tribute album can be successful if you don't stay true to the band's original formula for writing songs. "Remixed to Hell" is so excessive and horrible, that it doesn't stand a snowball's chance in Hell.
On the plus side, the CD does have a nice album cover. Nice job, guys.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disgrace to AC/DC, July 28, 2000

This cd is a sorry disgrace to AC/DC. It should not be purchased by any true fans of the band's hard rock. It is composed entriely of disgusting techno-dance-remixes of songs that should never ever be remixed. Only a hardcore industrial remix fan should consider listening to this album.
