Remixes from one of France's finest, September 20, 2002
This review is from: Remixent (Audio CD)
Chateau Flight has I:Cube and Dj Gilb'r as members, both releasing for Versatile, one of the best French (and European) electronic dance music labels. Every new release from this outstanding label has a musical statement to make, and succeeds in pushing back musical barriers and frontiers. This is a collection of Chateau Flight's remixes for artists like Pavel Kostiuk, Psyco on da Bus, Seiji, Femi Kuti, Bebel Gilberto, Joakim Lone Octet, P'Taah, Peace Orchestra, and even Pierre Henry and Serge Gainsbourg. For those who know, this roster of names represent an all-star team of cutting-edge techno-breaks/future-jazz scenes, and need no further analysis. For those who don't know, expect an idiosyncratic 'techno-edged' interpretation of a variety of different music styles, ranging from soul, afrobeat, and bossa nova, to deep house, leftfield electro-pop, and drum'n bass.

Damn! This cd is out of this world!, October 18, 2006
I got this cd 3 days ago and I have to say its the best cd I have ordered and the best I one I have (so far). The main reason why I got this cd was because of a song called:Who Am I, by Peace Orchestra. I also got it after finding out about of another song called:Take A Rest. After listening to the whole album, I have to say thai I like every song on here! But I now have two other favorite songs:Lola Rastaquouere, by Serge Gainsbourg and Second Nature, by Seiji. Lola Rastaquouere is off the chain! After listening to it for the first time, I was instantly hooked. I mean, this song is hot in my opinion. I'm not sure what the guy and girls are sying, but I love it!! Second Nature is close behind it. It reminds me of like being in the jungle and exploring it. Take a Rest is simple:Just relax, take a break, dont get angry, and etc. Who Am I is also cool. Its like u and a team are on a mission to infilturate an enemy fortress or something or whatever comes to your mind. Anyways, its an awesome cd and anyone who wants to get in the groove should try to check it out.

Château Flight - Remixent, February 22, 2011
Chateau Flight impart their magic on a load of different artists, with wildly different results. For instance, Psyco on Da Bus' "Take A Rest" becomes a chilled house track; Serge Gainsbourg's "Lola Rastaquouere" becomes a dub reggae workout; and Seiji's "Second Nature" is a broken beat future jazz medley. And that's only in the first four tracks! Even though they stick their fingers in a number of different genres, the results are always delicious. The roster of the artists that the remix is impressive, too, showing not only their influences, but their penchant for quality as well. From the Afrobeat of Femi Kuti to the new Brazilian jazz of Bebel Gilberto, they have their bases covered. And after listening to this collection, so will you.
