Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The Remmington Security 02825 B/W Observation System with 5.5-inch Monitor and 2 Cameras provides convenience and quality in a complete system. This system allows you to view multiple camera locations sequentially in real-time in a full-screen display. Featuring IR (InfraRed) illuminators for nighttime applications, the Remmington Security 02825 is a complete, self-contained observation system perfect for your home or small-business applications.

The 02825's 5.5-inch black-and-white picture-tube monitor not only provides you with a crisp picture, but also includes an automatic switcher that toggles between its two camera inputs with user-selectable dwell times ranging from two- to 20-seconds. This unit features built-in RCA-style A/V input/output jacks for recording purposes, and a built-in speaker. The two cameras that come with the 02825 utilize 0.33-inch black-and-white CCD image sensors and achieve a horizontal resolution of 380 TVL (TV lines). These units can receive a picture at a minimum illumination of 0.5 Lux for low-light conditions, and include 60-foot connecting cables.

Technical Features:

  • Auto-switcher dwell times: selectable from 2 - 20 seconds
  • Image sensor: 0.33-inch B/W CCD
  • Sensitivity: minimum illumination of 0.5 Lux
  • Camera resolution: 380 horizontal TVL
  • Camera support capacity: up to 2 cameras
Designed primarily for indoor use, the Remmington Security 02825 offers you everything you need in a basic surveillance system. This system is intended for use with a professional security recorder, such as a time-lapse VCR or a DVR, in order to take advantage of its recording functionality. Users should note that the CCD image sensors in these cameras may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the cameras should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.
