Paints a picture of amazing hardships - amazing survival during WWII for Jews who lucky enough to join the Resistance,
This review is from: The Remnant - Stories of the Jewish Resistance in WWII (Boomer Book Series) (Kindle Edition)
This historical novel paints a picture of the hardships, problems and dangers faced by resistance groups in WWII. The fact that it deals mainly with the added problems that Jewish resistance fighters faced gives us a real understanding of just how brave and resilient these amazing people were. Their spirit lives on...
The fact that most of these stories were taken from survivors and the backstory taken from the transcripts of the Nuremburg Trials just made the story even more fantastic, tragic and amazingly inspirational!

The Jewish Resistance was formidable,
By Charles "author of many published books" (Charlotte, NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Remnant - The Jewish Resistance in WWII (Paperback)
This book tells of the Jewish persecution and brutality, of course, the Holocaust played out on the world stage - every knows the story of the ones who died. Not everyone knows the story of the ones who remained free and fought back with a grief and a passion and a revenge so deep few could fathom. The Jewish Freedom fighters of the European theater - in this book - the Ukraine, were formidable fighters and took down many of their German enemies.
The freedom you enjoy today, was won on the backs of these brave souls as well as the uniformed Allied forces who fought for the common goal. Stunning, educational, frustrating at times because of man's inhumanity to man, but well worth the read!

This review is from: The Remnant - Stories of the Jewish Resistance in WWII (Boomer Book Series) (Kindle Edition)
This book is a must read for students interested in WWII. A good look at the dangers and day-to-day life of resistance behind enemy lines battling the elements as well as the enemy, and the amazing people who risked it all to help defeat the Nazis. These Jews did not meekly go to the gas chambers. You keep asking yourself what you would do in a similar situation.

What the Jewish Resistance had to endure in the name of Religious Freedom...,
This review is from: The Remnant - Stories of the Jewish Resistance in WWII (Boomer Book Series) (Kindle Edition)
An historic fiction novel set primarily in the forests of Kiev and the emcampments of displaced Jewish refugees trying to survive the elements and the events of WWII. The Babi Yar massacre is well detailed. The Jewish Resistance fighters' missions and fate tell the tale of what they had to endure in the name of Freedom!

were amazing people and they endured unspeakable atrocities. It is a testimony to the human spirit that any of them lived, let alone fought back for their freedom and that of the rest of the free world.
This novel was obviously meticulously researched. It felt more like a history book. Well worth the read. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good historical fiction or is a WWII history buff!

From the Author to my readers,

This review is from: The Remnant - Stories of the Jewish Resistance in WWII (Boomer Book Series) (Kindle Edition)
I wrote this book because few people know that there was a formidable resistance to the Nazis by the Jews they intended to eradicate form the earth. We've sll heard the statement, "The went to their deaths like sheep to the slaughter," but few of us realize that though only less than 3% of the Jews of Europe remained free of the death camps, they made up over 20% of the entire resistance movements against the Nazis. This story tells of their valiant struggle against tremendous odds and how they won. It's a story that must be told!

Myths Destroyed, finally!,

I'll make this short. This book goes well beyond what Shindler's List was trying to convey. A powerful 'must read' story about how no matter how much hatred inflicted onto the Jews, it didn't take away their will to prevail. It's a great window into how perpetrators escape their own self hatred by persecuting others. And the irony of this is it doesn't work. You still have to deal with your own demons. This book is all about what really matters in this short time we spend on this planet

These stories put into perspectivewhat most do not know about the war and the hatred against Jews. It disgusted me what so many people went though. Sad. It was also amazing ho may partisan groups fought back like they did. The truly had courage.
