works great on a real African type drum, very well made mallet.After one year the children haven't damaged the mallets. I've seen cheaper mallets and this isn't one of them.

My toddler twins love these mallets (we have 4) because they make a nice sound on their drums. Mommy loves them because they're too big to go in teething mouths AND they don't hurt their little noggins. Kid-tested, mother-approved.

this is in the posession of a 2 year old who uses it to drum everything from me to the dog to an actual drum and everything it hits makes noise so i would say it works great

I bought this mallet because I thought the Remo Floor Tom Tom Drum only came with one, but it turned out to have 2. It is nice having the extra mallet. The mallets are great on the drum, but soft so if my one yr. old beats on other things there isn't damage. The mallets are good quality, and well made.
