I purchased this drum for my daughter after she fell in love with it at her Music Together class. It is a great first drum with a nice sound. The colors are vibrant and I think it will last for years to come.

I bought this drum based on the reviews and have no regrets! This was the favorite toy of a 2 1/2 year old boy and his 10 month old brother. Well constructed and I recommend it highly!

I love this drum! My daughter has a great time playing with it and it is fun looking too! The sound is really professional for a kids toy.

This has really been the backbone of my studio for the last 6 or 7 years now. Whether I'm working on drill 'n bass, gabba, or plain old deep techno; this beast always seems to come up with the goods. It has depth, snappiness, a purity of timbre that just can't be matched by your 909's or 808's. Trust me, you need this drum.

Of course my peers routinely mock me, but I smile to myself, safe in the knowledge of where the future lies.

got this for my 18 month old son so he wouldn't be totally left out on big sis's birthday. he is pretty musically inclined, and of course he loved it.

it is really cute, but not chintzy or cheap or "kiddie"- except in the sweet lollipop motif of course :)

it sounds pretty nice i must say, i am impressed. the mallet it comes with is adorable, a colorful rainbow. but just so you know it is actually foam on the mallet, which my son is just barely past that age where he would want to eat it, it just looks tooooo inviting. so if you are giving this to a little one or there is a baby in the home, you might just try covering it with a patch of thin material and tying that around the top, i think it would still work well enough. otherwise it is soft enough that those sharp little baby teeth could take a bite out of it pretty easily. really i would recommend it for 18 months and up, as it comes on a handle which some little ones would love to just whack things with it. even my little angel does that from time to time :) i do recommend remo's little kid's tom drum for babies (and up), it is the perfect size for them to sit up to.

as long as you're like me and you actually prefer the sounds of your kids banging on drums, playing with a xylophone, and strumming a guitar, you will love this- it can pack quite a punch (it isn't quiet- duh!). i take this over those annoying battery operated toys that play some shrill snippet over and over.....my kid's playing really is music to my ears ;) ENJOY!!

I bought 2 of these as part of a percussion kit I gave to my daughter's preschool. The drum has a very nice, high sound and the kids do really like it. I'm giving only 3 stars because (and I might just be the fool here) based on the picture I expected this to be more than just a piece of plastic stretched over a rim with an open back. To me, this drum looked like it would have some sort of texture, as though it would be a drum surface made of a wrapped material, like the lollipop it based on. There is certainly nothing wrong with the drum, it was just a disappointment to see how plain it is in person.

My kids (ages 3 and 5) have had the drum for over a year and still continue to get hours of enjoyment from it. Would highly recommend as a gift or if your looking to start an instrument collection (we have the caged bells and rainmaker). I've found the Hohner products to be sturdy, unique, and a great investment towards music education.

My daughter is 20 months old and enjoys this colorful drum. I would caution this as a gift for new walker because of the drum stick.

My 18 month old LOVES this drum. It's easy for her to pick up and hold in one of her little hands. She loves the drum so much that she uses all sorts of objects to make music with it (not just the mallet). If your little one is into music, this is definitely a great starter drum for them.
