5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for rock
These heads are virtually indestructable and produce a great sound. Attack is superb, especially when played hard and loud, and the construction ensures minimal ring and overtone.

Be aware that this head pack does not product the best tone and sound for jazz (get Remo Fiberskyns for that kind of sound), but the Pinstripe model that comprises this pack has...

3.0 out of 5 stars sturdy heads
these heads don't give the best sound, so i wouldn't use them for a concert, but they are tough, and very good for practice. They have good response, and feel. I really don't like the snare head though, which is why i said 3 stars. I hate the power dot thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for rock, December 1, 2004
This review is from: Remo Pinstripe Value Pack with Emperor X Coated Snare Head
These heads are virtually indestructable and produce a great sound. Attack is superb, especially when played hard and loud, and the construction ensures minimal ring and overtone.

Be aware that this head pack does not product the best tone and sound for jazz (get Remo Fiberskyns for that kind of sound), but the Pinstripe model that comprises this pack has become the De Facto standard for rock.

If you still have the heads that come with your drum kit - and play rock - changing over to this pack will probably make a dramatic improvement in the way your kit sounds, regardless of whether you are playing a budget no-name brand, or Pearl, Mapex, Tama, Ludwig or similar pro quality drums.

I also recommend that you get a Rhythm Tech Memo Key (ASIN B0002E2EOE) or Evans Torque tuning key (ASIN B0002D0HZI) to allow you to quickly get your heads in perfect tuning once you have them installed. Either of these will allow you to get the most out of these (or any other) heads and transform your kit into a finely tuned, professional sounding set of instruments.

I bought these heads almost a year ago and after countless band practices and gigs, the same heads I bought over a year ago are still sounding great and haven't torn. these heads are amazing and a very good investment. make your kit sound very professional and I just love em to death. definitely recommend these heads to people looking for new heads

4.0 out of 5 stars awsome sound, July 10, 2011
This review is from: Remo Pinstripe Value Pack with Emperor X Coated Snare Head
these heads give an awsome sound from the toms but the snare head that comes in this pacage sucks. i would recomend the tom heads to anyone but the snare head is way to quiet and doesnt have the sound most drummers are looking for. after trying the snare head i took it back off and put my old head back on. that is the only reason i did not give these a 5 star review

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME HEADS!, May 9, 2011

i gotta say, these are just aout my fav heads all in one pack! the pins have a nice attack with short sustain and are 7 mil 2 ply, making them very durable. i love the pins. the emperor x, however, is simply amazing. its very good tuned high, wouldnt tune it low at all, but for a high tuning, it's great! the black reverse dot brings out a good tone for the head. its a 20 mil 2 ply head making it remo's most durable head ever. no one can go through this head. this head a loooooong life to it. all in all these heads are great and i would reccomend them to people that are looking for a nice punchy sound on their toms with great attack. and a nice tone on their snare with great durablility. get these heads! now!
